Right and I'm not saying that Les was perfect. Or that he was good, but Fertitta has been interfering, shown poor leadership, AND not spent(and he has lied while doing so). Its just weird to me that this all fell apart in one off season. That's really unheard of to me.
The Warriors and CP3’s weak ass hamstrings kept Harden out of the Finals. I just love how CP3 always gets a pass for b****ing out.
He sucks balls, no doubt. One can only hope that he figures out the keys to competent ownership driven by narcissism and his own fandom. He’s gotta want a championship as much for himself as for the franchise, so maybe he’ll soften his approach to the business of the NBA. But he’s a rich (?) dipshit that enjoys sniffing his own brand, so we’re all screwed.
He was also pretty poor the entire 2019 season. He didn’t get traded out of the blue. He was pretty bad. Maybe it was an overreaction, but a lot of people on this board were begging to dump him as well.
2 years in a row his supposed sidekick completely and utterly failed him in the playoffs. This board mercilessly killed CP3 after the GSW series just like it mercilessly killed Westbrook after the Lakers series. It’s almost like suddenly all of that is forgotten. How many CP3 is washed posts were there? How many he has one of the worst contracts in the NBA and is untradable posts were there? Give Harden somebody that can outplay him from time to time in a game in the playoffs on the biggest stage when he is in one of his shooting slumps and we’ll get what we had the year we won 65 games and nearly made it to the finals. Lebron had AD last year. The year before Leonard got all the press, but there were plenty Lowry, Siakam, and VanVleet games sprinkled in on the way to the chip. Don’t even start talking GSW.
harden recruited CP3. Let me repeat that. Harden recruited CP3. He then made a trade him or me request. But that one was held tighter to the vest, primarily because he got what he wanted. harden wanted Dwight. Harden wanted Russ. When harden didn’t get the coach he initially wanted he and Russ hand selected Silas - lying to everyone including silas stating to him that they wanted to play for him and then flaking out behind his back. harden has gotten what he wanted all the way through. It’s ironic to me that we pair him with the best talent ever by not listening to him. Given we own that contract in the last couple remaining years of his prime - I’d continue not listening to him all the way to a competitive team.
Is this how y’all feel about Yao? Him and his b****-ass feet letting us down all those times? How about missing an NBA record 27 consecutive 3-pointers? 7-44 on your own court! How the hell was that allowed to happen? That’s not on Paul. Where was a coaching adjustment? Where was Harden needing to take over with some easy buckets in the paint? Or anyone for that matter. Ariza was an egregious 0-12 in the game and 0-9 from deep.
Yet to be determined that this is the best talent he’s ever had around him. Hard to win 65 games and be an injury away from beating an all time great GSW team. None of this changes the fact that Howard broke down physically, CP3 broke down physically in the second year, and last year in the bubble Westbrook also broke down physically. The irony here is two of the main parts of this talented roster you’re referring to are coming off major injuries and haven’t played ball in years.
To add on to this, no one wanted Howard when he left Houston, but everyone did before he came to Houston. Cp3 we should have kept but there is a lot of evidence out there that this trade wasnt simply "Harden over riding everyone to get Westbrook." Westbrook....well lol, i donno man. And I have my doubts on how this coaching search was communicated to the players. Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes were saying that on their podcast.
so maybe he shouldn’t have been playing back seat GM then? Ever notice how Moreys last several years have felt very un-Morey like?
Yao would never grandstand for cameras or announce who’s a dog and all that macho crap CP3 does for TV. But injuries kept Yao from contention. Personally, I think Golden st. Had the superior squad. They ruled the West for 5 years. But I’m curious, What was on CP3 then? harden has his issues but What role did CP3 play in losing.? And BTW what star in the West “ TOOK OVER” and vanquished the Warriors from the playoffs those 5 years? I’ll agree with you about Morey announcing to the world that we’ve totally eliminated the mid- range from outlet game and D’Antoni for going along. When you announce the game plan and forbid deviation there can be no adjustments. That’s on Morey.
So I guess we’ll all just have to shut up and listen for the foreseeable future. We can hope this year has caused some internal reflection, but I doubt it.
Nope. Since harden established himself as a star, Morey began managing to hardens requests. Same thing happened in Cleveland with Lebron. While you want to keep your star happy, there’s a thin line you have to walk around them doing their job and the GM doing his.
I actually bet it has. You don’t become successful by not being able to adapt. And he has a huge hand in this disaster with his ego costing him greatly. I could see him being hurt by public perception and looking to change it. But I’m an optimist
b****ing out? That was out of his control. I swear so many posters here have sung double digit iqs. Harden had other opportunities and squandered them (Spurs 2016 or Blazers) and when his team does compete well like in 2018 against the Warriors it's not because of his offense as he shot rather poorly in the WCF against the Warriors. CP3's leader was so vital to that team doing that well v
