We already went through this exercise when that Reddit play vs strip club “study” came out and Portland was found to not be applicable
He outright destroyed the best team in franchise history by demanding the Rockets trade for a terrible player. He's 100% of the problem with the team right now, not as a player, but who he is as a person.
The best team in franchise history? GTFO. The Championship teams were pretty good bro. The team wasn’t good enough to beat Warriors. No one in the West was for 5 years. They were the best.
The championship teams were good, but the CP3-Harden teams were better, even if the outcome of the postseason wasn't as good. The 90's Rockets get swept by those Warriors teams, that's hardly something to hold against anyone. Now of course had Harden not pulled his BS, the CP3-Harden team would have been together after the Warriors were no longer a problem....but Harden had to throw a tantrum and blow up the team in order to bring in his buddy Westbrick.
Portland has nothing interesting to offer outside of Lillard....Easy pass on any deal involving them.
We’ll agree to disagree about the championship especially with Capela vs Dream34. SMDH. CP3 has worn out his welcome everywhere he’s been. Houston is hardly unique. But Harden is all but gone and the clock is still running 25 years and counting.....
It’s so disingenuous for people to keep harping on the CP3 for Westbrook trade like that broke up a 65 win team. We DID run it back and CP3 was not nearly good enough the second go round. Let’s talk about bringing in Carmelo and James Ennis instead of Ariza the following year because somebody didn’t want to pay him. We also let Luc go back to the Clippers. That team was not the same without those 2 guys. Paul also missed a lot of games and wasn’t the same guy as year one. The team that CP3 was traded from couldn’t beat a crippled GSW team. We did get fleeced on the picks though. That much is true.
.....and then the next year, CP3 drag what was left of the OKC Thunder to a better winning percentage than the team had since Durant was there, the exact same record as the Rockets managed....and took the Rockets to 7 games. Ariza was a washed up scrub at that point, had the team paid him the ridiculous contract some wanted him to get, they would have crippled the team going forward. Luc was broken. Whine about Morey's moves if you want, but by far the worst thing he ever did, he was forced to do because Harden is a moron.
The best part of the article: "Internally, there is also a growing belief that Harden could end up staying in Houston for the entire season — if not longer. Untenable though it may seem." Happy Holidays Harden haters!!! LOL
I could certainly see a HOU-POR-DEN trade that makes sense for all parties, but nothing major from POR excites me as a return.
