Someone trips and falls while kicking a knife in the air accidently and the knife stabs someone and kills them.

Scenario 2:
Someone is angry at someone to the point of wanting to murder and shoots them and grazes their ear when they intend for the head and nearby people restrain and hold him before he can get another shot off so the intended target is safe.

Harden was not exposed to a person who tested positive for covid.

The league considered suspending him and then investigated the situation and interviewed people that were there.

Harden was with a group smaller than the limit. He was in the area on the second floor that was reserved as a restaurant and his area was away from everyone else. The waiters all had face masks and the dinning party of Harden and his friends wore masks but had them off to eat. Supposedly he stayed in the restricted area.

He is being fined because the restaurant/club was not on the approved list by the league and had seating well in excess of 15 on the lower level.

He broke the rules technically so they fined him. It isn’t coincidence he won’t miss a game. The league clearly doesn’t view it as a flagrant act.

Harden is right people (including me) jumped to conclusions based on his actions before training camp. However he brought some of it on himself.

He does it again and it will cost him millions of dollars.

 

So tell me logically, is a 50 grand fine a deterrent. It's self evident that it isn't for a large chunk of NBA players. You don't have to tell me that they aren't serious about a deterrent when Harden got a slap on the wrist for blatantly openly defying protocol and then not even showing remorse for it by sharing a stupid ig post about not understanding why people are upset. His lack of self-awareness is also sad.

As for the other Rockets, I have no idea if they wore masks, how many other people were in the apartment and if they wore masks. However they are not being punished, they are out because of COVID and contact tracing.

If you want to talk statistics and probability talk about the probability of james being reinfected and spreading the virus. Show me all the cases where contact tracing has led back to a person who has already been infected and cleared months ago. You can talk about which venue with more people all you want but the FACT is james already having it changes the probability. Stop trying to act like youre the smartest person in the room when you dont even get the big picture.
