Yea Simmons passes are more accurate than Westbrook. And I believe Westbrook isn't that high up on creating open 3s
He was top 3 in the entire league in “open” 3 pointers created according to NBAs tracking data. My opinion, he is elite at EVERYTHING, but shooting. His weakness is nothing to ignore, but unlike some NBA players, he has an understanding of his limitations and up to this point has managed to put up modest volume scoring with high efficiency. Modest volume with high efficiency is many orders of magnitudes more helpful to winning than high volume and low efficiency. My opinion, he’s the absolute best single piece of a package we can realistically expect to get in return and while he is absolutely in no way capable of adding wins like Harden has over his time here, Simmons is a REALLY good player in the league. My guess would be top 20 over the next 5 years.
I believe John Wall used to have that title too... Wizards broadcast brought it up every damn time we played them. Ariza had a career year. Blah, blah, blah.
lol ppl still think they will give us Simmons for Harden. No team will want to trade a star/potential star for a cancer like Harden now.
I do, I prefer to look at AST% and he's a special kind of player when you consider the combination of size, handles, IQ, and passing. Regardless of Rockets, he looks like a player that needs his own team.
I don't care how he acts out, you can't sell him at his lowest value. Unless you believe he won't be able to play at MVP level ever again, you wait until then and for other teams to start getting desperate midseason as their aspirations fail to match reality.
Watching the Wizards-Sixers game right now. My god Simmons is awful at shooting. Embiid getting doubled every time he has the ball, Simmons being left WIDE open. Simmons is 1-4 at the FT line and incapable of scoring outside of 5 feet. Russ looks like Steph Curry out there by comparison. Simmons is completely dependent on drives and low post positioning to get the ball and make things happen. For all of Hardens personal flaws, Simmons is not in the same league as James.
But he can get there and be effective. This isn't like Westbrook where, if he's left wide open on the perimeter, he can't exert himself into the post because he's just too little. Simmons at 6'9'' 225 or however heavy he is, is far more effective than Westbrook doing the same thing.
Philly fans have always been very casual about trading him away. That's how I know I want no parts of him. Meanwhile, Heat and Boston fans are like "Wait...can we keep Herro and Brown?"
You’re stuck here buddy. Every time Harden goes to a party, he’s penalized an extra month in Houston. Looking like he’ll retire a Rocket.
