That makes sense I thought he was restricted but Detroit had plenty of space and they could afford to overpay for a young talent like him.

Just look at what Orlando paid for Issacs.

They actually did not get much and they traded a FRP.

I like Pina on his podcast with Golliver. Great piece! Now, please stay Harden!

Rockets FO needs to make another trade to improve this roster and incentivize Harden to stay.

    Use those dang FRPs!

    You know that's silly right?

If he's committed by the deadline, I agree, but right now that's an absolutely awful idea otherwise.

You're way to set on Harden having a huge change of heart. I think if he plays tomorrow there will come a point where he has a change of heart but you have to wait for that moment. Otherwise. Save those picks.

    I'm all in on Harden-Wood.

It's up to FO to convince him now.

They can still use Tucker's extension as sweetener but it's more important that FO has a meeting of the minds with Harden, the sooner the better.

    Let's not waste this season.

We have no idea what's going on. We seriously don't. You're living in a fantasy world where everything is being reported. This is a complex situation. I have no ****ing clue what is going on with Harden. I'm at the point where I'm happy if he stays and happy if we get Simmons. I wouldn't blow my load on trading for a rotational upgrade to convince a 31 year old unhappy star to stay for an extra year or two. If the team is good enough and you know how I feel about Wood (i think he's better than Russ or CP3) then maybe he has a change of heart. I'd have to know everything to know whether or not to take the risk of holding on. If Simmons was on the table, I'd probably take it with what we can tell with all the stuff that has leaked. I know it's not the full story. We don't know the full story.

I don’t think this roster is far off. I don’t think they are much better than 6th currently. But if we can use the FRPs we have at the deadline and maybe EG, or Wall (God willing) contracts to bring back a legitimate player that actually compliments James and Wood that would be amazing and depending on how guys like Bmac, Nwaba, Brown and House play could put us into the top 3.

The pre-games I watched, I believe the chemistry on this team is the best I have seen since the 2017-18 Rockets team. I hope Harden stays...I think he might be pleasantly surprised.

Riiiight and then does Harden laugh hysterically or do all the other players laugh at Wall? Maybe both?

this is where I am. When/if Harden recommits to this team, everything is on the table. I’d be happy to trade those picks for upgrades. But I’m not doing anything that requires we spend future assets while my star is requesting a trade.

one thing that is very obvious is that organizationally we aren’t catering to Harden anymore. He’s still a star and we want him to stay, but the respect has to go both ways. He’s already cost us huge assets by demanding we trade our future picks for Westbrook...no more of that.

This is all coming from the top down. Silas is installing a new offensive system, seemingly against Hardens preferences. Stone is handling negotiations and at the very least isn’t in constant communication with Harden.

I do think Harden needs to be sold on what we are doing here, but that has to happen on the court. If Silas, Wood and Wall aren’t enough to bring him to the table, then no move we do with a bunch of mid 1st will matter either.

I wouldn't sell my house for 0.75 on the dollar, if we are lucky.

There is simply no reason to especially when I know the value if the house will rise when the weather gets warmer.

Only a fool panics and sells low when he doesnt need to.

Raise the value of your home by improving curb appeal, put in new windows or hardwood floors.

THEN sell when value is at its highest.

Don't sell just because you think your house no longer loves you, your neighbors aren't talking to you, or they are spreading gossip about you.

As the homeowner, you are in control.

Nothing has changed since this article was written a few days ago.

Trading Harden now is not based on basketball reasons, it is based purely on emotion.

A lot of what's being said in the media about James Harden not being that attractive of an asset is posturing. If you don't believe me, go look up how poorly some articles have aged the last time players of this caliber were on the market. The best assets (Ben Simmons, Tyler Herro, Jaylen Brown, etc...) will still be on the table a year from now because these general managers aren't stupid; they understand how rare a talent like Harden is. It will not hurt the Rockets much if they choose to see how things develop.

What if 20 games in, Houston has one of the best records in the Western Conference? You may not be able to convince James Harden to stay long-term, but passing up on a year of title contention to pivot to a rebuild is the greatest sin in professional sports.
