warriors and curry fans are still living in 2016, meanwhile other players like luka, jokic, embid, giannis, kawhi and yes HARDEN have all gotten better. The nba analysts keep living in 2016 when they put curry in top 5 list. Giannis was nowhere the player he is now back then, and luka wasnt even in the league. Harden changed the game not Curry. Luka, and Trae Young along with giannis believe in the rockets/harden style of play. Higher usage rates among stars started with harden in 2017 and now the stars of today like luka, giannis, and trae young all handle the ball more because of harden revolutinizing the game. The stepback and side step three has become a major staple in the nba now.
Curry was a nice not great player until he got his super team, let's see what he will be like this year without his super team. Also I don't think he is he is best shooter of all time, now you can't say it's unanimous.
Nobody gives a flying **** about any of the **** you mentioned except for Harden nut gobblers. 3 rings and 2 mvps and you bring up best player from 2009 draft class based on vorp and win shares per 48? Lol
when curry has to play defense and offense, his shooting numbers will look closer to trae youngs. In the past klay has always taken currys assignment and draymond usually always iniated the motion offense. What curry is going through right now is what harden had for all of 2020. notice how the nets are NOT even doubling curry right now lol. Straight up defense and go back at him on the other end, tire him out and those long threes will be short rimming all night
Curry isn't the type to play the carry the team style of basketball. No important Golden State Warrior of those successful teams is the type to play that style of basketball. Curry, Thompson, Green, and even Durant to some extent are the type to play essential roles on system-oriented teams. Curry's success was as the driver of the supercar that was that first championship team and the 73 win team. Later, on those Durant teams, he was like a crew chief. None of the players that carry teams could have played his role on those teams. Now, he's the driver of a beater so he's not going to win anything. He deserves the licks he's going to take if he can't figure something out with this team. But I think his talent is legitimate and his past success was unique and deserved. I'm not sure what you mean by Harden changing the game. If it's as a player that does the majority of the ball-handling, passing, and scoring of their team, well, LeBron was doing that. Way, way back in the beginning, Oscar Robertson was doing the same. I personally don't like this revolution. The game of basketball doesn't either as the only way those types of players ever win championships is if they do a lot less or if they are LeBron.
Harden would carry this warriors team to the west playoffs... unfortunately he will never get the love from the media until he’s gone
Usage rates in the 40's rarely if ever happened prior to 2017. now luka, giannis, and trae all had usage rates in 2019-2020 higher than any season by LeBron ever
So "glorified Reggie Miller" is also an exaggerated expression, right? Personally, I think Curry is overrated by the general public but underrated by Rockets fans.
So when it comes to Curry/Harden, it's stats, not accolades, that matter. But when it comes to Curry's resume, it's accolades (or lack thereof), and not stats that matter? Because we all know that Curry deserved that FMVP far more than Iguodala.
harden would make wiseman an all-star easily. And you would see real gravity by harden on this warriors team, because harden can control the pace of any game unless he is on the court with a lebron or to a lesser extent luka( who can match harden with feel for the game). Thats what ive always said about curry, he is more of a 2 guard in a pg's body, while harden has the iq of a pg in a shooting guards body. Harden similar to oscar dictate the pace and always make the right reads. the only reason harden had high turnovers those years was because of his usage rate and handling so many possesions and fatigue
Harden deserved mvp over westbrick and giannis, but the voters didnt see it that way. If harden has 3 mvps, along with his 3 straight scoring titles that changes how we view harden. Unfornately harden is not well liked so the media wont vote for him to win anything. Harden last year deserved more votes for all-defense, he was a +2.1 in defensive raptor and it wasnt borught up. NBA awards are more about narrative than actual production, more so than in any other sport. Aaron Judge would have won mvp over Altuve in 2017 if the mlb used the nbas critieria for awards
I don't watch college basketball, but based on what I've seen from the first half, Wiseman is a far inferior version of Capela. If Harden couldn't turn Capela into an all-star, how could he turn Wiseman into one?
Curry tried to carry a team last year, his glass body broke down in like 5 games People take Harden's durability for granted, Curry's career would have ended already he had Harden's team
I don't study stats, but it's easier to do everything for a team and get high usage stats in the regular season. It's not real basketball, though. Whatever that means.
