Watch him and Jello join Lamelo in Charlotte. Lavar swears the NBA would be cooked if that ever happened.
So, Lonzo, John Collins and Jarrett Allen are the main guys about to be restricted free agents that couldn't reach a deal...i can see Lonzo getting traded, not sure where though, maybe to the Clippers.
Eh, good question, if i have to guess i'd say Lou, he's expiring and maybe the Clippers have no interest in resigning him since they just extended Kennard. Pat will also be a 13M expiring contract next year so, he might be a good piece for a trade in the future.
The Pelicans are going to wish they had extended him. He is never going to be a 20 point a game scorer, he isn’t a great finisher or free throw shooter and doesn’t draw a lot of fouls. However he is a very good defender. He is improving as a shooter and already is a good volume three point shooter. He is a strong passer and rebounder and really good in transition. Overall he is going to be a really solid player. The Pelicans have the best young talent in the league and assets... but I am not sure they know what they are doing, adding Gar Foreman to the organization is a really bad sign.
Well to be fair this is a nonissue as Ball is a restricted free agent. Maybe Ball wanted Wood money like 12M a year or something. Ball is technically a bust considering his expectation is retired jersey number. However it doesnt mean he is a bad player, dude has turned into a really good complimentary player with his defense and passing. He even shot 37% from 3. Really good pg to have if you already have stars on your team.
I have liked Griffin. I will just say that adding Gar Foreman makes no sense at all. He causes issues and isn’t a good scout or evaluator.
After the draft hype dies down, people adjust their view to what a player was expected to be and what he is. He is a bust, and also a really good player. Now that he seems to have developed a reliable 3 ball, he has no real weaknesses. He can be a ball handler and he's long enough to slide over to be a 3 and D swingman next to a Harden type. The question is what is he asking for. He'll never be a superstar (doesn't have the scoring skills), but if the 3 ball sticks he's an elite supporting player.
He is a modern day Jason kid. The only problem is the league is more of a shooting league than it was in the 90’s
He shot 37% from 3 so tbh even shooting isnt a problem anymore. His biggest issues imo are his general passivity on the court, his lack of elite handles (cant iso and create for others) and his ankle issues made worse by wearing crap BBB shoes for years. I think he is a very good player. He isnt a stat stufferand def not no 2 lotto pick material but if he played in a league that is more focused on team play and actually winning bball games over pumping stats like EuroLeague he'd be more appreciated. I'd def take him over a lot of undersized, inefficient scoring star guards like Kemba Walker, Irving or even Trae Young.
The Pelicans really need to decide who's going to be their main guards, the didn't extend Lonzo and they're wasting Alexander-Walker playing him behind guys with no future like Bledsoe and Redick, they should really make some moves.
His agent thought he's worth more; but Pelicans was like 'nah'. At least he doesn't run like his dad.
