I have AJRD on my watch list (of 92387927581 ticker symbols). I have no idea why or when I added it. It was bought out by Lockheed today. I wish I had bought it for whatever reason I added it. :D

FYI : for anyone interested, they're buying Precor -- they're a pretty well-known exercise equipment company. I know them from their treadmills (I don't own one). I think they're middle-to-higher end equipment, as in, commercial gyms buy them, but someone else may be able to comment on those better than me. From what I heard on tv, and like @adoo said, they were being bought for their US manufacturing so PTON can keep up with the orders (probably thanks to Beyonce, lately).

Thank Buddha I didn't sell any of my Apple stock yet cuz it's been struggling to hit $130 all month (till AH today). On the flipside, now I have to think of other positions to sell so I have more money to spread on new SPAC bets.

Keeping an eye on upcoming $SFVA Softbank SPAC.

@saitou mocked me for that Softbank SPAC. It's going to the moon! Actually, I have no idea, haven't looked at it yet, and haven't bought it. From the brief blurb I heard about it today, I thought they said their targeted industries were just about "any industry".

Softbank has had lots of terrible investments like WeWork and Wag but I figure they'll have better access to private companies than many other players. Also, due to the low investment size of the SPAC, it'll put a ceiling on making overvalued investments on established unicorns (ex. Uber, Slack).

I think they invest like most of us buy SPACs ... "just buy about 100 of them and hope a few hit". ;)

This is the perfect vehicle for dumping a toxic asset. There are 200+ SPACs to choose from, I'll pick another one.

I'd hope the shareholders vote against any obvious toxic asset dump. It's certainly a risk and I'm not in love with Softbank like I am Chamath but a risk worth taking for the right entry price.

Shareholders May Not Have the Ability to Approve Our Initial Business Combination

We may conduct redemptions without a shareholder vote pursuant to the tender offer rules of the SEC subject to the provisions of our amended and restated memorandum and articles of association. However, we will seek shareholder approval if it is required by applicable law or stock exchange listing requirement, or we may decide to seek shareholder approval for business or other reasons.

    Edit, more:
Because of this ownership block, our sponsor may be able to effectively influence the outcome of all other matters requiring approval by our shareholders, including amendments to our amended and restated memorandum and articles of association and approval of significant corporate transactions including our initial business combination.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of sitting around on a SPAC that hasn't announced anything other than "we are Softbank and we're doing a SPAC". I was too hesitant to buy GSAH for that reason, even though I wanted to because it was Goldman. The one time I did it, it did nothing after the announcement, I think. Of course, I Just looked at it (MFAC) and it just took off earlier this month.

@saitou, didn't you mention CGRO? I keep forgetting that thing is a LIDAR stock since it started out as a pot SPAC. People are saying LIDAR stocks popped because of the Apple announcement. I wonder if that's it or if it's just because everything crappy and/or SPAC popped?

Yeah I mentioned cgro; I think it's been on the up because of lazr.

I'm a bit worried that softbank kills the golden goose. If it fails spactacularly, like drops to $5 per share after combination, ppl will get shook and start being more discriminating. We don't want that, we want indiscriminate mooning of SPACs lol.

The waiting totally sucks, which is why I only buy early if it's a good entry as close to $10 as possible, otherwise I'll wait for it either drop down to that price range or I'll wait 3-4 months before chasing in the $11-12 range, cuz on average it takes that long at a minimum to find a target.

Another bet that has worked well for me is to bet on Chamath. He hasn't failed me yet. (IPOB, IPOC, MP, DM)

sdgr appears to be forming a bigger cup, from early July,
the handle, from hi 90s/low 100s, will likely form before the early Feb ERS
