    I like Theis, but he feels like a throw in. I'd be thrilled with Brown, Smart and the two firsts.

    This works in the ESPN trade machine. Harden's contract is 41 M plus. A useful throw-in doesn't harm anyone.

    True, but the deal works with or without Theis. And he's their starting center and is far more valuable to Boston than he would be to Houston as a third big off the bench.

    If you give a team an ultimatum and draw the line at three of their starters for one player, they're going to pass unless they're especially deep. Boston's not likely to take that deal. They're more likely to give up Robert Williams or another throw in asset instead.

    I just ran the 3 names in for Harden on the ESPN trade machine a few days ago. I didn’t know that Smart and Brown matched James on their own. Thanks.

    I can't see Boston trading their two best defenders in any deal. I gotta imagine they view Smart as the perfect complement to James Harden.

    Personally I think Boston could trade Kemba to the Knicks for Toppin or Barret and some FRPs. Which would be better for us.

    Summary of Granato this morning:

    -James is gone
    -stands by “impeccable source” claim
    - it was not a leak for leverage
    - not saying that James is for sure getting traded to Boston or Toronto. Just saying that as of RIGHT NOW, the best offers are the Jaylen Brown package and the Siakam package.
    - did interviews with Toronto radio and they would love to have Harden, Boston fans claim they don’t want harden ( lol )
    - Says he would not be surprised if Philly or Denver upped their offers
