Harden laid down in the second half of Game 7. If Houston would have just lost Game 7 to the better team that would have been one thing. But there is a major difference between losing a game to the better opposition vs laying it down against the opposition. Harden did the latter. If your shot is not falling, doing something else. Go to the hole, shoot a mid-range jumper, get in the post, run some flare screens, run high pick and roll, do something other than just chunk up three point brick after three point brick. Game 7 was there for the taking, you can't deny that. I think just saying the status quo thing of well GSW had four hall of famers and that's why we lost is a lazy ESPN talking point. I expect a little bit more from members of Clutchfans...

I think its an ego thing for the front office/owner if a trade for Harden is pushed this hard. There is nothing to lose to wait.

Chemistry and culture change being used as an excuse for a quick trade is all bs. Bringing in a new guy also requires chemistry and culture bs also.

Like u said Harden isn't gonna outright tank games so let it play out, but if the owner is petty enough trading for any okay haul instead of maximizing is possible. Front office just has to spin it well enough.

Similar to the emotional/petty BoB trading Hopkins as fast as possible, it might occur again. I hope I am wrong.

Yep. Like I said, everyone feels good about their team right now, exception for teams like the Pistons that might be tanking or other teams content with being a bottom 5 team (who won't want Harden any ways or have anything we would want) it's just not a good time.

Man, Woj is all over the map. We usually take his word as gospel, but his updates these days just seem like a lot of noise.

There’s definitely something there. He will take us all the way to the playoffs. Year after year. Just not sure that he will ever get you over the hump though.

So where was the rest of the West for 5 years? Was Harden the only hope? The Warriors won the West 5 years in a row. It's not an ESPN talking point, it's a fact. Did the entire Western Conference choke? Give the Warriors some credit, they whipped the West's ass 5 years running. Not just Harden, the whole damn Conference. With 3 NBA Championships. It's a fact.

Yeah and we shouldn't cry about value. We are going to get robbed no matter what we do. Take another shot in the first half the season here before it is all blown up.

He is under contract. If his value sinks, whatever. Either way, Stone is going to have to pull off some more miracles to get us back to contention after dealing Harden.

Turning Russ/Rob into Wall/Wood/Boogie and 3 1st Round Picks is a gawdamn miracle, and hopefully not his last.

You're acting like a trade is the Rockets' idea.
James Harden is the guy who is pushing for a trade.
The Rockets are the ones who offered him an extra $100 million to stay.

Yes, I want to see what Woods and Harden look like after a few games together. That was no practice and no preseason and they looked like soulmates

No I'm saying y are we pushing it when we could just wait. Harden isn't gonna magically become sht at deadline, barring any injury.

Y do u think the Rockets are trying to ram a trade through before season start when they can just wait it out? Like simple solution is the org say, no good offer is avaliable so we wait until trade deadline, but nope pushing it like no tomorrow.

Before u say chemistry and other bs excuses. Think about it anyone we trade for with Harden isn't gonna b the same value, to me means whoever we get back = we aren't going to win it all. If its like that why not wait to maximize Harden trade value?

Did you see him getting molested by Green for no call every drive.
Klay and Bell were allowed to foul him every 3 attempt as well

So pass it to an open team mate right?
    27 missed 3s later...

AND we still should have won except that the refs swallowed their whistle for James the whole game. He got fouled blatantly clearly on four 3 point attempts (let alone everything else).

To the contrary, once he gets in better shape under this offense and gets a few more game with C Wood under his belt his will VALUE go higher and higher

Just saying if Rockets pushing for a trade without letting Harden even play with the team to raise his value or change his mind. To me its more of a tilman petty power move more than anything.

U have nothing to lose waiting.

ESPN clickbait. Like some of his updates are nothing new. "Rockets are still trying to trade Harden and exploring 3 team trades" is nothing new.

That the Rockets would trade Harden to a team he wouldn't prefer is also nothing new. If the Rockets were offered Ja Morant for Harden they (better) do that in a heartbeat, F what Harden wants.

But nothing has really changed. If he came out and said "Philly has a strong offer on the table right now..." or something then yeah but the story that the Rockets are trying to trade Harden has been true for weeks now.

tomorrow it'll be "Rockets and Miami have discussed deals but nothing seems imminent," and it will get everyone here to click and talk about it...which will be its purpose.

Patrick took Ra-fell aside after game last night and gave him some words of advice.

    "Don't be a stupid person."
