You know why we lost to the Lakers man....you know who the biggest problem in that series was.

What point is that? The better team wins? We weren't close to the same level as the Lakers last year. We beat the team we were suppose to beat and lost to the team that we were suppose to lose to.

You do realize that we also lost in 2018, right?

This narrative is getting tiresome and thank you for this post for putting holes through it

I really don't care how he feels about Harden. My pet peeve is people quoting incorrect things as if they were facts. Way too much of that on this board.

Harden-Simmons pairing is like Harden-Capela except on steroids.

This combo would be the core of true small ball lineup and explosive, especially defensively. The ultimate in 5 Out - Switch Everything. Weakness is Simmons shooting.

While Harden-Embiid would be MUCH more dynamic offensively. But this team up could not switch everything defensively.

Harden-Wood actually provides the best of both worlds and system flexibility IMO. Wood still has to improve defensively.

However if Harden-Wood is able to add Aaron Gordon as their 3rd star, this duo becomes even more weaponized.

AG adds another playmaker, another lengthy explosive roller/lob threat as well as bolstering the iso/switch heavy defense.

Pretty simple. Playoff success is different than regular season success. Adjust and plan accordingly.

You do realize the context of us losing in 2018, right? What are we, barbarians?

    It was probably more like.

    1. Everyone not named Harden, Roco, PJ.

everyone else was just pure trash.

Rockets defense was much better than you realize this past postseason.

Rockets were ranked #1 in defensive net rating for most of playoffs.

We had like 7 dudes in the rotation. Lol...I think Ben Mac maybe deserves some slack, he didnt give him minutes because Mike didnt trust his defense. I also think EG didnt play bad tbh. Everyone else though, yea I think thats fair.

I know Harden still had a spectacular series by any means. Just pointing out the fact that Harden’s EFG% was 15.4% higher when Dort was not on the court and i think that was a big factor in making it a close series. But I guess to your point, we still won.

Those playoffs have nothing to do with my point. We lost because without CP3 there wasn't enough firepower to hang with GSW.

Elite Defenders don't shut down elite offensive players - regular season or post season.

EG was awful after game 2. Big reason why we stopped being competitive.

simmons is overrated because he light, just like a lot of other nba players. if he was harden skin color, people would look at him and see james johnson or draymond and think nothing of him

Realize that most any good offensive player can get rid of their defender by simply running pick and roll and forcing a switch.

Nobody defender is going to lock up a good offensive player.
