The only good thing is that all of these people have come to light and future Republican administrations will not give them positions of power. There have been rumors of investigations into the Biden transition team in federal court.... so maybe that is part of it.
Not so sure these people will ever be punished for their behavior. The civil war in the Republican party is looming, not behind us.
I agree that we are not out of the woods, and a lot of very bright people I know believe that what we saw with Trump is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what we will see from both the democrats and republicans going forward. However, I don't believe that Trumpism will win out. There are a select group of people like Graham that have staked their entire political future on Trump but I don't think the majority will.
I agree there will be a seismic move within the GOP after January 20th. And more so when Trump is charged with a crime or is ruled against in civil suits. I read a minute ago that the Chris Miller's justification is that Biden would not qualify for security clearance because of Hunter Biden. The rebuttal was the President is exempt for requiring security clearance. Don't know it was publicly stated anywhere. But in light of current events this action jeopardizes the safety and security of the United States. It has every appearance of aiding an attack on the US government computer network and delaying vaccine distribution.
Trump's people are trying to make it so Biden looks ineffectual in his first 100 days. Judges, bureaucrats, locking funds, stifling informed prepared transitions But to trumptards it looks like they staving off marxism
Agree with this. The fact that 100+ House Reps (including the Minority Leader) and 18 State AG's and numerous Senators have embraced the election conspiracy stuff tells us this isn't a small faction and it's not going away. Most of them don't believe any of it, but they've made the calculation - and so far, been proven very right - that their base gobbles it all up and that's the way to win elections. If the GA Senators win these runoffs, it's just going to reinforce the notion that to win in the GOP, crazy only helps you. And that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon. If Trump is charged, it will just feed the "deep state is out to get me" stuff. He's set himself up in a perfect position where any news - good or bad - is good for him politically.

The right would sink every US aircraft carrier, sailors and all, for one more day of Trump as president. Maybe that's hyperbolic... maybe one carrier for each additional day.
I think the opposite will happen. These people are the future of Republican party and will get rewarded by the Trumpian base with positions of power.
