I bet Tilman doesn't like Simmons' contract.

I listened to Woj this morning and honestly he’s starting to sound like he’s mixing in his own speculation with his reporting. Nothing has really changed over the last few days, but it’s as if he needs to find something new to say each day so he adds some more in there.

He bought in last night. The team looked great. You're telling me if the team comes together fast and looks great in the first 20 games that Harden wouldn't at least consider wanting to stay?

I don't care when they deal him but they can't afford to mess this up by feeling rushed. Maximize his value... After all Harden put you through, you got to come out of this with some shred of dignity and control.

Yeah, Harden needs time to decide if his teammates suck or not.
    The damage is done.

It makes zero sense at all to trade him sooner than later. Zero.
I’m holding out faith in this FO though because they’ve genuinely impressed me.

Seriously. Do NOT trade him before the season starts. We won't get anything. If we still suck by the deadline then we have the same leverage we've always had because teams won't want to wait until the offseason.

If the Rockets are absolutely rolling and Harden wants to stay? Great!

If the Rockets are mediocre, but Harden still looks like a stud, then teams will get thirsty.

I continue to feel Woj is now a mouthpiece for big GMs and agents, especially on the coasts. They want pressure on Rockets to make a move quickly. One person knows Harden's mind, and that one person isn't Woj. I also see no reason to believe he is close to Stone or new Rockets FO, and if not, he would have only guesses as to what they are thinking based on 'hearing' the other end of phone calls.

agreed the way its worded in woj’s story makes it sound like stone is trying to get philly to offer ben + a slew of other assets or the Nets to find a 3rd team

Instead of one player of Simmons caliber with major flaws the Rockets are trying to swing a deal for 2-3 younger guys with upside and all star potential to put around Wood.

    This.

With how things have escalated the last couple days there are only two real possibilities.

    1. The Rockets front office has spoken to Harden and have concluded that there is no chance of making up.

    2. The Rockets have thought long and hard and want to rebuild and develop a young team and the issues with Harden are a perfect opportunity.

Years from now I REALLY will want to read an autobiography by Daryl Morey on all of this..

it's pretty obvious harden has his mind made up. 1 meaningless preseason game or some random 20 regular season games isn't changing that. all it does is buy time outside of what harden has already made his intentions being
