I can’t speak for loney but for myself personally I empathize with athletes and people like James harden. He is an introvert like myself( he holds things and his emotions in) The way people and the media bullied him his entire rockets career is similar to what I went through in high school. I was bullied for wearing the same clothes everyday to high school. One day I found out I left my gym shorts home and I was pissed about that because I was probably the only guy who enjoyed running in the heat and playing outside basketball. That same week my mother was laid off from her job at Kroger Signature. So all this is happening and I’m still being bullied by this guy in my Spanish and geometry class because of my Nigerian last name and my thick glasses. One day I couldn’t take it anymore after he said something about how poor my mom was. And I got up from my desk and punched in the face as hard as I could. At this point I’m thinking I’m only going to be suspended from school. Next thing I know I’m in handcuffs and I get sent to juvenile. My mom bailed me out the next morning and I was charged with felonious assault with bodily injury.(apparently he lost vision in his left eye) and I broke his orbital bone. My dream of making the nba and helping my mom was over at just 14 as I was sent to the now defunct Texas Youth Commission till I was 18. And then released on good behavior. Looking back I wish I had the strength of James harden to just block out the constant hate and bashing from the media and haters. I was probably more affected by harden being named shaqtin a fool mvp than he was. I know I would have lashed out back at shaq and barkley if I was harden. Anybody can have the easy life of steph curry and Patrick mahomes when you are praised all the time and recieve no criticism . It’s the guys that get bullied and picked on or even body shamed like harden that I will always continue to admire. And yes I know harden is not 100% innocent but if this were the first stone I had seen hardeb take I wouldn’t be defending him. This hate from fans and the media has been going on for over 5 years.
