Rafael Stone, DO NOT LOWER YOUR PRICE! I find it strange that this Podcast from Tim MacMahon is coming out at a time and point when the trade between the Rockets and Philly and/or NJ has come to a standstill! So, what better way than to have a story come out at this point than to drive down Harden's character in the public eye. DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT BUT THIS IS LIFE IN THE NBA AND IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR YRS! You don't think MJ and Magic Johnson was catered to and got their way? Allen Iverson? Carmelo Anthony? Same for Charles Barkley? I think the Head Coach should set a standard. MDA and Morey let Harden have his way. I like Silas a lot and I think he is different than MDA, which might be problematic for Harden.....Harden is going to have to adjust, if he is going to make it work. But I have no doubt this is either Morey or MDA trying to drive down Harden's value.
if i was someone who wanted Harden i would want stories out there about how he's selfish so i could drive down the price. However, the media also likes stories that incite controversy and negativity. So either could be true. For rockets fans though, we have to stay united. Harden is gone, we need to have solidarity that we support Stone in an iron clad game of chicken. We had a great 8 years with Harden; he's choosing to force his way out of town and is now hurting the team with the public drama; now we have to close ranks and support the franchise. And that means holding out for the best deal ...even if things get "uncomfortable".
Question is if what Tim MacMahon says is true why would Morey trade for him. I wouldn’t want to get pimped again if i was him. I applaud the Rockets Organization for showing some backbone. Based on that article I would suspect more fines and tension along the way. Get ready for the ride.
So Morey is trying to lower Harden's value so he can trade Tobias + picks for Harden? lmao, even Tilman isn't that dumb to take that trade. If Morey refuses to deal Simmons in the end, we'll just take the Heat, Warriors or Raptors offer.
No I don’t think they were catered to this way. They didn’t have to be. Those guys ACTUALLy wanted to win. Those guys were super professionals absolutely dedicated to this game. Harden loves to ball. But he loves to party just as much if not more and he absolutely let it effect his teammates and the organization. MJ and those guys demanded the same professionalism out of their teammates too. Sure they got away with some things but I’ve never heard stories about MJ partying between games or after play off losses. Or him being consistently late for practices. reminds me of some of my early interns before I finally learned to set the culture early on so they knew how to act in a professional environment.
Morey's ideal scenario would be to keep Simons and Embed and bring in Harden....to beat NJ and the Heat, they are going to need 3, not 2 Stars
tim macmahon is a dallas plant, he cried like a b**** after harden damn near put 50 on his boy toy luka
Because of technology, we as fans know more now! But from what I know, Iverson had the same issues and so did Barkley in Philly. There have been many others. I think the Head Coach has to draw the line and MDA flat out didn't care, just so long as Harden showed up and scored!
And Iverson for as fun as he was to watch was known for being difficult and never won anything. He willed his team to the finals one year, that’s impressive, but it’s what puts him in the lower tier of HOFers. And yes MDA did not care. And that was a problem. The organization is also responsible for Hardens behavior but ultimately Harden took advantage and pushed it as far as he could. It’s on him. But you highlight why MDA is a bad coach, imo. He thinks regular season preparation translates into the post season (among many other coaching flaws). He doesn’t command a winning organization. He doesn’t set the appropriate culture. that’s why Pop has so many rings. Even Phil Jackson knew he had to set the cultures. Stars will always be treated favorably but there is a line. And those coaches set it. MDA hid in his Pringle’s can.
