As for a trade you might be right. I just feel a deal has to be in place or at the very least close for these leaked to come out. Morey is probably the only GM who won’t be bothered by these leaks coming out in any negotiations

I wouldn’t value John Wall if I was Harden either. Can’t stay healthy, coming off two major leg issues, was never a good shooter, subpar defender. Who cares.

I don't mean to disrespect the OP, but isn't he the "insider" that got every single one of his leaks wrong last trade deadline..? The thing with "sources" is that a lot of things you can infer from public statements, body language, etc. And sometimes the guess is correct--which then enables the so-called "insider" to claim legitimacy when the entire thing was built on a lie to begin with.

Just like the guy who made up a bunch of details about the Tilman/Westbrook/Harden zoom conference call. It sounded like it could be real because it was so detailed, but every single detail ended up being fabricated.

If the Rockets are leaking these stuff( a lot of it over exaggeration) I don’t think this will do anything to win over harden? I think they are resigned to the fact this marriage is unofficially over so a trade which I believe is nearing will make it official.

If the Rockets thought there was a chance of a thaw in the relationship they would not be leaking these stuff so freely.

 

Which is why it’s hard for me to believe it’s the Rockets leaking this.

You'd be surprised the kind of stuff people who want something would do to control a negotiation. Doesn't matter if James wants to be here or not in the end. The Rockets have two years to trade him or two years to convince him to stay. Only trade that wouldn't be on the table after a few weeks is the 76ers one I presented. PJ extension is the date to watch. 12/22, a week from yesterday.

Maybe but I find it hard to believe Harden would martyr his reputation this badly to lower his value. Given Tillman’s track record this has him written all over it

Well, he said Harden already asked to get traded and that the thing would've come out soon like a day before it happened and while everyone was saying "Harden is still focused on staying in Houston bla bla", fwiw.

 

Doesn't matter if the story is true, of course there's going to be tension. That is why even if Harden is staying and playing, not everything is just peaches. It's actually awful. Teams now don't feel obligated to up their bid since they know the Rockets want to win and with an uncomfortable situation, it's likely Rockets might just take a lesser deal just to get rid of the distraction.
