They have issued thinly veiled shots at someone. Don’t know if it’s Harden or management.
If you ask me right now, I would still prefer to work things out with James.
But if any of this report is true, it’s a bad look for the organization and him. There are no innocent here.

He definitely built the business and helped it ascend to new heights.

How many times had the Rockets made the playoffs or been passed the 2nd round before harden got here?

    Coke parties?

    You sound ridiculous.

People paying attention already knew all of this, but maybe it wakes up the delusional homers

    Umm, quite a bit?
Maybe not recently prior to his arrival.

    True, I don't disagree.

Of course it wasn't an issue. As long as everyone is happy, why would it be an issue? There have been individuals that have taken issue with it (i.e. Ariza, Westbrook), however they also understood it was part of the business and played on.

Hyperbole, let's not get caught up in semantics. It's obviously an exaggeration to make a point.

This is obviously Tilman, I'm sure Harden asked for everything possible to be done. Obviously, Tilman has not caved in and opted to save money.

Once again, if the marriage is happy, why the hell would anything like this leak out. No one is trying to save face since everybody is happy. I mean, James has had certain control in the organization, after all, as Morey said, it's a partnership and he understands that Harden is the franchise, he is the engine of what makes this team go, so of course he likely consulted with Harden. Does it mean that Harden got everything he wanted? Hell no.

Exactly. It's only an issue since Harden wants out. So, if we didn't empower him 4 years ago, and chose Howard instead or kept McHale, would we be in a better spot? You guys are so stupid and no concept of the real world. You don't think Google, Apple, Tesla, don't pay crazy money and kiss the ass of their top employees. I know some engineers that got multi-million dollar retention bonuses at really big corporations because they were so important to keep away from the competition.

Well then, I guess that makes Harden more valuable.

Quite a bit prior to 1997. Not in the intervening 15 years between 1998 and 2013. 15 years is a long dry spell to only make it out of the first round 1 time. Harden brought winning and success to this team, regardless of any other perceived flaws.

People in the media is starting to overrate the Morey found a gem in Harden narration.. I'm just a sports fan, and at least 95% of of knew when Harden was in OKC, he was going to be a star.

C'mon man... he used his power for extended trips, late planes, partying, etc... those are facts. He didn't use the ENPOWERMENT for good, that was just his talent. We're talking about the additional ENPOWERMENT giving to him and how he chose to wield that. He didn't use it for extra practices, he didn't use to get his body right, he didn't use to set an example to rooks, he didn't use it .... Don't move the goal posts.

I was afraid this was gonna happen-media assasination - see previous posts. The league and media about to put all these divas in check. The money has dried up this year... that means execs are not gonna tolerate bad behavior. I really hope James learns humility. And, the Rockets get a good deal for this guy.

They made the playoffs with Yao and TMac. Didn’t get out of first round much.

I love Harden and I believe he’s done a lot with not a lot of help. But winning to me is championships. He/we have been competitive for sure, and regular season winning is a given. I guess if I don’t just want a seat at the table, I want to eat too.

Not sure if it was him or management. Seems to be that some of it was Harden.

"You can't get mad at your kid if you let him eat candy every night and then suddenly one night you don't and they throw a tantrum," an ex-Houston assistant coach said. "You're the one who let them eat candy every night."

Well, I think people knew he'd be an all-star, a lot of people compared him to Joe Johnson as far as impact. Like Joe, he was going to get his own team, be a nice player for that team, show up in a few all-star games and that's it.

He turned out to be an all-time player. I don't think many were expecting that.

It was me, but then I think malakas mentioned that Beal was available. I never went back and checked her on the facts and assumed she was correct and haven't been back in the thread since then.
