This is probably not an isolated incident. And yes, Trump and his lies are responsible.

    https://abc13.com/mark-anthony-agui...ted-aggravated-assault-liberty-center/8802235

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former Houston Police Department Captain was arrested and charged for running a man off the road and pointing a gun at his head in an attempt to prove claims of a massive voter fraud scheme in Harris County, according to a news release from the Harris County's DA's office.

Mark Anthony Aguirre, 63, was arrested by Houston police Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

"He crossed the line from dirty politics to commission of a violent crime, and we are lucky no one was killed," Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. "His alleged investigation was backward from the start - first alleging a crime had occurred and then trying to prove it happened."

According to court documents, Aguirre told police that he was part of a group of private citizens called the "Liberty Center," who were conducting a civilian investigation into the alleged ballot scheme.

According to Aguirre, he had been conducting surveillance for four days on a man who was allegedly the mastermind of a giant voter fraud scheme. Aguirre told authorities the man was hiding 750,000 fraudulent ballots in a truck he was driving.

Instead, the victim turned out to be an innocent air conditioner repairman, court documents said.

    ....

Aguirre's claims of election fraud were found to be baseless after thorough investigation by HPD and by the Harris County Precinct 1, as part of the Harris County Election Security Task Force.

Any cops here. Why are so many of you people so dumb? Sincere question.

I just texted my good friend to see if he knew him when he was at HPD. They were in the academy together. I sent him the story and am waiting to see what he says.

I've been following this dude's exploits when he caught my radar a couple of months ago. On a local level, the Trump crazies were all-in on this voter fraud thing for a while. After closer inspection, it's more stupidity and misunderstanding of how voting works, but nevertheless, this dude (if I'm not mistaken) had signed an affidavit as a part of the lawsuit that tried to throw out the drive-thru votes. The legal basis of throwing out the vote was different from this guy's testimony, but it was still weird that he basically said he has proof that there are hundreds of thousands of fraud votes in Houston. The 9-0 all-republican Texas Supreme Court ignored that part. Even though his old job and title gave him credibility, the only news I found regarding the claim reported that the statement was ridiculous and full of heresay.

Anyhow, whatever the election outcome was, I am not surprised at all about this story. This former cop loon is a true believer, like the ICP fans who think magnets are magic and won't be convinced otherwise. I have to find the old stories now.

What will these crackpots do when they discover real fraud, and it’s perpetrated by the GOP?

Going that far, true believer alright. He’s also got funding.

“Aguirre allegedly never told police that he had been paid a total of $266,400 by the Houston-based Liberty Center for God and Country, with $211,400 of that amount being deposited into his account the day after the incident."

Assume it's something they'll be privileged to do when they "made it".

Not a cop... spent a long time working with cops.

A non federal garden variety cop has a job most don’t want.

Cops are used to people fearing them and not being held accountable.

Cops with solid mental abilities becomes detectives... smart cops work for federal agencies.

After 2-3 years I began telling them they were stupid or unqualified when they would screw up one of our investigations or when they would freely violate civil rights.

Most of them were not “bad people” but they were mentally low on the intelligence bar or they were ignorant of the law or they did whatever was the easiest regardless of what was right.

The dumbest ones tended to be former marines or army. Those also tended to be the guys hot headed and that would seethe either racism or intolerance to anything that they viewed as different.

Women cops were not as likely to be as short tempered or racist... but they had more that either were lazy or had no real interest in helping people.

Some of them are very good people but those people usually move to a position off the beat or find another job... most people get mentally exhausted being the guy that no one wants to be around and always delivering bad luck.

My friend ended up in Internal Affairs and was always saying how dumb the cops were that they were trying to help with their situations.
