Yep, Miami getting Harden now would mean the Sixers are pretty much done with little to zero room of improvement.
While I was a youngster at the time, I recall the Hakeem drama had blame flying both directions as the front office was accusing the Dream of embellishing the severity of an injury.
Hakeem's drama was much smaller. He was angry, but it blew over much more quickly and was never an issue again. They insulted him and he made sure that they knew that he didn't like it. It feels like with James it's just going to drag on and on and get much nastier than it ever did with Hakeem. Hakeem was pissed, but I'm not sure he ever really wanted out. James totally does.
I guess now Giannis resigning with the Bucks taking him off the table, means more teams in the mix for Harden. Let's hope this starts a bidding war and resolves the situation soon rather than later.
I'm guessing today with social media, podcasts and countless shows it makes it a much bigger thing. Imagine the Hakeem trade request was in this era? I'd bet it would be similar to Harden, AD and Butler.
Dream called owner Charlie Thomas a coward. That beef was way more heated. Charlie and Dream hashed it out finally only by sitting down on long arse trans pacific flight to Japan.
Simmons is scheduled to play in less than an hour and Harden in less than 1.5. If a deal was done or close, they’d be held back for a pre season game.
I really don't see it with Simmons, but I guess I'd give it a shot. Assuming there's any merit to this at all.
