He has not gotten out of the 2nd round nor could he lead a team to the NCAA.

You dont follow 76ers do you?

Of course the 76ers and their fans have discussed trading away Embiid and building around Simmons.

That fanbase is just as schizophrenic as any other.

And if anyone is being obtuse, it is obviously YOU.

Morey is in Philly now, analytics say 76ers MUST put shooters around Simmons (and Embiid) to maximize the system as well as the player.

I really can't believe there is a 55+ page thread arguing the merits of Ben (I'm scared to shoot) Simmons and Tyler freakin Hero.

James Harden played in the NIT tournament his freshman year and was a quick out in the NCAA tournament his sophomore year. Stop using Simmons' college team's success as a barometer for his ability.

    Ben Simmons 60 TS%
    Tyler Herro 55 TS %

    hmm.

So the bad shooting of Simmons isnt really a problem since he's not out there chucking like Westbrick. His game consists of driving and dishing or finishing at the rim. When did that become bad??

So the assumption is that defenses will lag off Simmons and somehow the team wont have enough shooters to overcome that??

If Denver was willing to sell Porter at such low price he would be long gone.

he didn’t use it as a barometer. Other people brought up Simmons at herro’s age. Especially when some of y’all aren’t even close to putting this in its full perspective. It’s absolutely relevant to the discussion but since it’s a knock on him it shouldnt be used. Typical. So harden made the ncaa tournament basically. Cool.

    Stupid writers ;)

Could crack Top 100 in future years

    https://www.si.com/nba/2020/12/15/nba-top-100-watch-list

    Tyler Herro, Miami Heat

Herro was arguably the breakout star in the Orlando bubble, and for good reason, helping the Heat make the Finals, draining big shot after big shot, and generally earning his stripes. Still, history has shown it’s probably better to wait than to judge him off a hot month and rank him rashly. Herro’s ability to create his own shot points to tantalizing upside, but the other elements of his game remain a work in progress.

Simmons will be in the Top 30 (Coming Wednesday/Thursday)

    20. Ben Simmons
When it comes to Ben Simmons, the conversation often turns to his shooting. But while he has yet to develop a reliable outside shot, he does virtually everything else at an elite level. Heading into his fourth season, Simmons is already a two-time All-Star, and he's coming off of a First-Team All-Defense selection. He is one of the most versatile defenders in the league, and he is also one of the best passers, as he's finished in the top six in assists per game in each of his first three seasons. He's a nightly triple-double threat, and with a reshaped roster in Philadelphia that projects to complement his skill set, Simmons could be in store for a huge season.

    72. Tyler Herro
I loved Herro coming out of Kentucky, and like everyone else, I love him even more now. He was never just a shooter. He was always being slept on as a legit playmaker off the bounce, and his confidence as a creator and scorer is special. In the words of Mark Jackson, Herro's not afraid of the moment, and Erik Spoelstra isn't afraid to run his late-game offense through Herro despite having Jimmy Butler on the floor. That tells you everything you need to know

Why do I care what their fans are discussing?

    Really dude?

I watch the NBA and have watched Simmons since he was in college.

I read a lot about the NBA and no respected "expert" is saying build a team around Simmons, just last year they were asking was he worth the max and should they trade him to get better fits around Embid, they are still talking about that.

Did you know Simmons TS% actually isnt that good because he doesn’t shoot anything outside 10 feet. Context in numbers actually helps. Meanwhile herro takes shots at every level on the floor. Meaning his TS% is much more impressive. Ouch

sure. against 2nd teams for most of the time and some spot duty in crunch time.

Simmons has been winning matchups against the best PGs in this league routinely now while Herro gets to pick on other teams scrubs.

    ouch.

Not true at all especially when he plays near 30 mins a game at 19-20 years old. More dumbass assumptions from folks who don’t know wtf they’re talking about

    ouch

so your TS% got reality checked

    ouch

Only 0.602% TS for someone who doesn't even shoot one 3 per month. That's just sad.

Even Clint Capela has a higher ts than that and about the same midrange and 3s.
