Seems funny when Harden literally came here with all those question marks in 2013. Simmons has zero upside. He is the player he will be in 3 years. Herro could easily become better at all those things you described in 3 years.

Herro is 20 years old. How do you know that by the time he is Simmons age he will not be a good scorer and defender? Ball handling is the only skill that you can have legitimate doubts. But he is still capable.
surround him with specific shooting by what avenue. Explain how his max coming in plus all the other salaries on the rockets allows the rockets with the many options of surrounding him with elite scorers and shooting necessary
Why do you ASSUME Harden and Herro were the same player in college? Herro played within a role and Harden was the offense. Go check out Herro's draft report and compare it Simmons and Harden. And he could easily just be Kyle Korver 2.0 without the size.
Look at Simmons' rookie numbers and then look at his last season numbers. The man literally has not progressed or evolved his game AT ALL.
Simmons only upside is developing that non-existent shot, and why we should believe that will happen, Idk. What else can he really get that much better at? He’s basically been the same player from day 1.

Not even the Miami Heat are stupid enough to build their team around Tyler Herro. Herro is a complementary role player to a superstar. Herro is number 4 at best with the Heat.

Simmons at 20 years old was running a team and being an elite defensive player. When has Herro ever run an offense? High school? Herro doesn't have good measurements defensively; average height, below average wingspan, below average frame. Compare his measurements against Klay And defense. I mean you can hope he is.....
it’s not just shooting...u need to surround him with shooting and some high level scorers because he doesn’t provide much in either category we’d need a whole bunch of shooters and 2 guys that can get u 20+ ppg Simmons and just some shooters will go nowhere even tho that’s what u need at the bare minimum
