They'd need to take protections off the 2023 pick to OKC to trade 2025 and 2027 first rounders to us, which doesn't seem like it would be a deal killer to get this done if both sides want to do it.
Pretty delusional if u think trading away your superstar will allow us to lure more superstar. Hey let's join the team that got rid of James harden said no superstar ever.
This. And the playoff run was in front of zero fans and in a bubble during some of the wildest times in the world and definitely the most oddball NBA season ever. Why would we make a deal now? Y'all all be acting like we don't have him for TWO more seasons. We have leverage and y'all are over here playing armchair GM but thankfully aren't running this team because you'd be a trash GM. If Herro is the real deal he can prove it with another season where he shows improvement...and you wait until he does it during a normal season.
People wanting to trade him for anything less of value than the Pelicans got for AD are out of their minds. We have him for TWO more seasons. He's a better player than AD with no injury riddled past.
Maybe someone has mentioned this before, Herro regular season splits: per basketball-reference.com (19/20) Home: 46% (FG%).....42% (3P%).......107 (ORtg).....109 (DRtg)......+ 2.7 (+/-)............ Away: 39% (FG%)......36% (3P%)........98 (ORtg).....115 (DRtg)...... - 4.2 (+/-)............. When a shooter feels comfortable with a rim it can be lights out. I feel this was the case with Herro in the bubble. Can be slightly different when a player has to travel between games. Same thing with Old Man LeBron. We will see how well he performs as he is required to travel.....if no bubble format in this years playoffs.
I would start considering it at Herro, Robinson AND Bam Adebayo plus all their future 1st round picks with swap options in the other ones, that way when Harden and Butler start to rot in 2025ish and Pat Riley is starting to get to that age where he might need help wiping his own ass, we get to scoop up their first instead of ours. Or if y'all really want to keep PJ, which I don't think he will be worth whatever he is ridiculously asking for especially if Harden isn't here giving him the wide open corner 3s regularly and we hopefully won't need a guy with no ball skills that we only love because Harden can't play D (sorry for spitting facts here but come on dude is averaging less than 7 points and rebounds a game...for his career AND last season so GTFO with crying about making $8M a year)...then whatever remove him but with Adebayo we don't need him.
I just did but thanks for proving my baseless claims up that we shouldn't be making decisions based on play in the bubble.
If Herro & Robinson are all that good then why in the world would Miami want to trade for a 31 yr old guy in Harden? If I was the Heat, I would not make this trade at all then. I believe at this point there are crap offers on the table to Houston for Harden which does not include any of the above players you mentioned. They may be trying to throw a lot of picks instead. The Rockets are in a win-now scenario so they want some stars which most of them are probably not willing to give up.
I mean did harden just suddenly stop being a perennial mvp caliber player in this league or something. Pretty sure teams in the league all want that caliber on their own team but I’m just guessing here
I was just talking from Miami's perspective if Herro/Robinson are valued that high. From the Rockets perspective, I do not believe other teams have anything meaningful to offer for Harden. Harden is an MVP caliber player for sure that is why Herro and other fillers do not make sense for Rockets. And, as per this post, if Herro and Robinson are that damn good and young then why would Heat do this trade?! Harden in Miami for Herro makes Heat instant contenders for the East, if they are not already but Herro in Houston does not make Rockets equally great as Heat with the swap. Honestly, I just hope Harden stays. Cousins/Wall/Harden combo with Wood can be lethal, assuming players stay healthy. Harden just needs to believe and take the plunge, unless he has some serious issues with Tillman.
And I replied why. They’re good but again let not pretend harden’s talent is obvious and every team is searching for a perennial mvp candidate like that. Not sure why that’s difficult to apply. No matter who you realistically trade for harden, the rockets are done. It’s rebuild once he’s officially out. You shouldn’t be expecting anything close to a contender
Let us use Eric Gordon and picks to get Bulter, Gianns, Lebron, Donic or Curry. I think Harden should get 1 all stars who can score at least with double double on rebounds and assists plus several first round draft picks. If they just use some 10 plus scoring statistic players to talk the trade is a lost trade.
Well, it really depends what the Rockets get for Harden. A lot of uncertainty with Wall/Cousins combo too so only time will tell. I would not consider it a complete rebuild if players are healthy but will definitely need more pieces other than Herro or Simmons if Harden is traded for either of these players. But I agree we will be far from being contenders without Harden.
we all do brotha, even im sure his haters on this site do as well. I hope this whole thing blows over like the hakeem and kobe situations way back when they demanded a trade
lol at climaxed. I think the word you’re looking for is peeked or plateaued. In any case.... I don’t think he’s any of those. I’m not big on Siakam nor am I advocating a trade for him but in what world does 23ppg / 7.3 rpg / 3.5 apg/ 1spg / 1bpg while leading a team to a 53-19 record.... 2nd best in the league overall = Role player? He’s not flashy, he’s not exciting and sure he struggled in the playoffs but he’s around a Top 30 player.
not sure why you wouldn't consider it a rebuild, once harden is gone. You're absolutely not winning with what is left behind. It instantly becomes all about the future. Unless your goal is to just get lucky and be a .500 team and miss the playoffs
