Casuals can't ball, they are more envious of his 40 million than his playstyle, believe me.

He has a chance albeit a very tough and long road because hes a severely undersized PF (6'4) and even lacks length (only 6'8) so he must play with maximum effort on offense and defense.

And oftentimes he will be a nonfactor.

So he's neither a starter nor is he even a FT rotation player for a championship contending team. Not this season.

Harden gonna retire one day, you still have to cope with having trouble to score later on.

He chose to demand a trade, do not turn this into the fans having any power over him leaving or getting rid of.

    They do not.

What a breath of fresh air to have a coach who makes sense. MDA would’ve had him out there 30-40 minutes, claiming short preseason requires playing time and seeing who fits.

-Yes they are closer but you also get 50% more points from behind the arc.

    - if you are shooting poorly from the arc then you are likely shooting poorly from midrange too.

-it's not "fancy math". It's called multiplication. A basic math skill that you should learn in grade school.

    - being able to shoot a lower percentage from the arc but still be more efficient than midrange is the reason that every team now shoots more 3s and less midrange.

-all teams, not just the Rockets, are trying to take the most efficient shots. Sadly, that may require doing some multiplication.

It’s great to see Gerald Green back and he looks good. Missed him.

There are so many bad coaching things MDA did that we all complained about but as soon as he turned from the team most the board tore into Tilman for chasing him away. I say good riddance.

I was never a MDA fan though I give him credit for unleashing Harden. For all his good things, he did a lot of horrible things that prevents teams from going all the way. The lack of adjustment and short rotations are my biggest beef with him. The lack of any defensive strategy was also killer.

Mid-range shots should be reserved for players that can actually shoot them at a decent clip and for moments when the Rockets don't have anything going from three point line (0-27 GSW game 7 issue comes to mind). Otherwise, the shot seriously is a detriment to the team's offense.

small sample size warning and shortsightedness warning...

1 midrange even if 'inefficient' makes 3s and layups more efficient because of one word UNPREDICTABILITY...you are easier to stop if you surrender the biggest part of the court to the opponent making him know in advance you not gonna shoot from that spot

2 AND you gonna need that midrange in the clutch when THE efficiency doesn't matter when you just need a basket (btw I would argue that is always the case and its just that your version of analytics didnt catch up with that)

3 and you gotta get ingame practice of that shot, not gonna suddenly practice it when you need it the most......

there s an universe more reasons for taking of the middy but here are just 3 IRREFUTABLE ONES

4 FLOW some players are raised with this shot and it helps them get in the flow https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)

In positive psychology, a flow state, also known colloquially as being in the zone, is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by the complete absorption in what one does, and a resulting transformation in one's sense of time.

Named by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi in 1975, the concept has been widely referred to flow state across a variety of fields (and is particularly well recognized in occupational therapy), though the concept has been claimed to have existed for thousands of years under other names.[1]

Agree to disagree. We've had this argument as a group for years now.

I'm sure "grumpy" could be a status designation, after all, "old" qualified before.
