Jeff Bezos creates tuition free schools, a real American hero

Bezos does good philanthropy.

Too bad he doesn't pay or treat blue collar people well. You could also call them "low-regulation folk from Red States"...uhh Real™️ Americans.

I guess that's more on society and what people can get away with than on Bezos...

He's a bit like 20th century robber baron Carnegie Mellon except with the world turning to ****, he has the potential save it or break it even more.

 

Will the child be taken to school and delivered back home in Amazon vans?

 

Do you believe the criticisms of Amazon's employee practices are valid? If so, which ones...if not, why not?

 

Let us now ignore all the bad stuff he's done because a think piece glorified him.

Forcing grown ass people to wear diapers or promoting "super spreader conditions" to get your stuff one day earlier doesn't sound like we've come far as a people.

At some point people might equate Amazon like they do Walmart.

Opening up space to humanity or spending a shitload of money to address climate change sounds a lot better.

 

Honest question: what's the difference in how they treat their employees?

 

Sort of sad to see little guys like Tinman have a psychopathic billionaire as their hero. So easy to please.

 

Hate to break it to you, but Teslas are not saving the earth.

 

I'd argue Amazon is probably worse than Walmart. Everyone focuses on Walmart's wages but Amazon is flat out creating a dehumanizing experience in its fulfillment centers. And given Walmart's wage increases (and state minimum wage increases), Walmart really isn't that far off from Amazon in terms of pay.

Amazon's just trying to run out the clock until it can automate most of its fulfillment centers. Until then, they'll treat their employees like robots until they can find a way to replace them. Also Walmart employs people in really rural areas (which is actually valued in those areas) which is something Amazon doesn't do.

 

It's the Koch philosophy..... government can't be trusted with public money.

 

Bezos consistently ***** on his workers, but hey at least we get free Prime shipping. I'll admit, I love my Prime shipping. But I'll acknowledge he treats blue collar workers like ****.
