no idea when this dude skipped being some fringe all star to some elite mvp player. Oh wait, it's never happened so yeah that's why
Tyler Herro averaged 13 points in his rookie season. Kobe Bryant only averaged 7. Thats like twice as good as Kobe.
Shut up, you god damn racist. I am white and swedish, I am as pale as coconut milk and there is nothing that offends me more than racist comments about the colour of my skin.
so a worse player got traded for a better return?? hence the point. SGA was same level as Herro coming off his rookie year (except for Herros playoffs which is noteworthy but... also kind of meh if you consider Herros playoffs was like a sophomore season). Gallo put up 20/6 on great efficiency. Then the Clippers gave up insane amount of picks. all for PG who was having his best year but was still pretty underwhelming in the playoffs. Like I said if it is the best they can get and Harden is a dick and they decide to move on and they get Herro plus well everything of value not named Bam and Butler then will take it.
the same goes for you. if anyone kept up with this thread, they would know where that came from. obviously yall don't
the worse player getting traded for a better return was not the general consensus of the trade when it was done
What the hell are some of you talking about? Herro and Precious plus Duncan Robinson and the 2 big contracts and picks is the offer that will be on the table. If you wanted you could take Eric Gordon and Precious for Aaron Gordon??? Js its the overall trade that makes this teM better. And you can still ship off Iggy and Tucker to maybe the Knicks for just a pick and a player. So snap into that idea. Kelly is a nice peace in a trade with his out side shot and presence inside the paint. Could be a good SF with his shot? But the good thing is he only has one year left on his contract then we are rid of all that money
No you don’t understand what I’m saying. Paul George is worse than Harden. The return for Paul George is better than a Herro centered package. Worse player traded for better return.
Nobody is giving up 5 picks. Can we please try at least to be realistic? The pg deal was completely different scenario for a few reasons; 1) pg had no leverage, he had just signed a max and was requesting a trade, so they will only do it if they can get a lot, as they have no rush to deal him. 2) LAC gave that much because they where getting kwahi and PG together. PG alone is nowhere close to that haul in value. But Kwahi told the clippers he was only signing there if they get him PG, and thats why they gave up so much. Now, this deal : 1) harden said he wants out and only has 2 years left on his contract, so we can loose him out for nothing after next season 2) He is 31, will be 33 after his next contract ends and he will demand ( rightfully so) a max extension. How do you feel his game will age with the amount of punnishment he takes? I think the right answer is, nobody knows, so its a risk. 3) He can sabotage any trade by saying he wont resign, so its only a couple options available. ITs not like charlotte can trade for him. Between those options the only ones that seem to have a decent package are or woth looking are miami, philly and the nets. To me , the nets package is the worst. Miami is in the middle, as they will not gave up adebayo, and thats the piece i will love there. Herro could be awesome, but nobody knows yet. Now Phillys deal to me is the best, because, Simmons flawed as he is, its already an all nba player and defensive player of the year candidate, he is only 24 and can run a team. Ill take that over the potential of Herro without hesitation.
Are you referring to Ben McClemore? There aren't many shooters that stuck with us through the FAs, they were either let go because they sucked, left us because they were good, or traded away because they sucked... We should ask ourselves: Is this how we want to accrue shooters, gambling on players that were basically not going to run anymore? Depleting more shooting isn't going to help the Rockets in the long-run. It's about the only thing that makes a player a good asset for us because they become extremely tradable. The way I look at it, I'd rather have the ability to trade this incoming player than the ability to develop them. This is how we did it when T-Mac and Yao were done, this is how we should do it now. It's a matter of "win-now and tank later" with Ben Simmons vs "be ready to trade for a true top-5 player with Herro". Win-now mode with Ben Simmons: to me, you only pursue this if you're 99% sure that he's going to become a top-5 player. You're basically talking about Giannis. He's won MVPs because the media loves him, but because he can't shoot he hasn't won anything else. I don't care how much you try your best to surround him with shooters, you need shooting on the star player in order to win. Also as soon as you arrive in Houston, Simmons will immediately lose value because you can't scrub the Houston off of him. Again, does he develop a shot? If you think he doesn't, and you think he still will be a top-5 player, because Giannis, I think media will get smart on this pretty damn soon. Giannis is fools gold. He says the right things, but he just can't shoot.
