And a lot of other things as well. No more excuses for coaching staff going forward. We should be dominating the AAC. We need more speed, better conditioning, better recruiting. All these things can be improved with better coaching.
I see that Ty Marsh de-committed yesterday. I don't who that is and I don't follow any prep ball at all. Wondering if any of you have a take on our recruiting class. All I know is what 247 says. Which is this class is not highly ranked, not very large and no real 'stars'. I put a lot of stock in 24/7, just an easy resource to find. One of the raps on Holgorsen at poor recruiting. But that was commonly brushed aside by where he was recruiting to. I read that DH told his staff not to fill up slots for for the sake of filling them up. Any opinions.
Why are we favored by 5 points today on the road against Memphis? Hope the oddsmakers are right. It would be nice to end our season on a positive note.
This just feels like a pointless season. I'm not even sure how to evaluate it properly. I guess that lets people off the hook and I'm not making excuses for anyone, but it just doesn't feel like meaningful football. All of these games have felt like scrimmages or exhibitions. I'd rather they'd be winning the games obviously, but it just feels like a lost year, either way.
I think we have three or four more years of this type of uncertainty, I think this year is the confluence of maybe two or three bad staffing and compensation decisions coming to fruition. The AD will probably have to retain Holgorsen through two more losing seasons for continuity and cost recovery, and Holgorsen will have to challenge himself to stick around once he builds his Houston coaching and recruiting pipelines. King's success post-transfer leaves an even bigger stink.
