Gonna trade Harden for what he was traded for. Jeremy Lamb Kevin Martin 2013 1st round pick (Steven Adams) 2013 2nd round pick (Álex Abrines) 2014 1st round pick (Mitch McGary) Duncan Robinson Tyler Herro Kelly Olynyk Andre Iguodala Precious Achiuwa 2025 1st round pick 2027 1st round pick (In any trade, if they’re trading out one guy and bringing in 3-4 guys, some other guys gotta go.)
PJ Tucker is probably packaged in there somewhere. Wall Herro Gordon ? Surly not Tate Woods Robinson Mclemor Green Cousins Miami Dragic Harden Butler Tucker? Bam Damn the Miami lineup will be scary if Riley get Harden bought in and focused.
Heat also have: Mo Harkless Avery Bradley Meyers Leonard But cannot include any (including Dragic, Bam) of above in Harden trade for another 3 months. PJ Tucker would have to be retained or traded to another team if trade happens within next 30 days. Rockets would be smart to ship either Iggy or Olynyk + FRP to 3rd team in Harden trade for a starter at 4. 1st Trade MiA: James Harden ORL: Kelly Olynyk, Danuel House + 2 FRP HOU: Aaron Gordon, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, Andre Iguodala, Precious Achiuwa + 3 FRP Wall/Nunn/Brown Herro/EGo/Greenlight Iggy/Nwaba/Robinson AG/Bruno Wood/Cousins/Precious 2nd Trade PHI: PJ Tucker HOU: Matisse Thybulle, Mike Scott (waive) + FRP
They turning into a old leg team so fast, lol Away, depends on their strategy, W now, or seeing Butler past his prime n lose patient to see young dudes to grow
And guess what all of that, is just your baseless hypothesis. Do you make all your decisions on worst case scenario what ifs? What if you got an accident while you are out driving today? Oops might as well stay home all day. What if this girl cheats on me in the future? Oops I better stay single all my life. You are asking me to solve a problem that hasnt even happened yet wtf. Hey a blackhole is gonna open near the Earth someday what are you gonna do about it? The reality is no player can force his way to a team unless he is willing to leave significant money on the table. The super max will pay them significantly more than the normal max so they cant just jump ship unless it has the blessing of their previous team. Look at Harden if he had his way he'd be in the East today. Where he now? You dont even know if there is space for Simmons in LA, Giannis all but frothing in the mouth to go play with Lebron and AD. Just for that risk you take a role player like Herro over Simmons? Lol. And pls dont tell me Herro is a star, since when do stars average 13 4 2? Maybe in the future he can develop into one but he wasnt a star last season SMH.
I have an idea. Why not do the deL with the Heat. Grab Herro, Duncan, Precious and the two cap guys Kelly and Andre plus the two first rounders un protected 2023 & 2025 Then Flip Duncan, Tucker and Clemons plus Portland 1st to the Magic for Aaron Gordon and a 2nd. Then last trade Andre and Kelly plus three 2nd rounders to the Knicks for Kevin Knox And see what Eric Gordon can fetch to anyone we can add a 1st rounder and see if we can get Buddy Heild?
Good with that but would rather keep Olynyk and not get Knox. See what Iggy could bring in for another wing, maybe Gordon and Iggy for Oubre.
The reason Morey went small was to open up space for WB. The Lakers literally had WB's man running around chasing Harden. It was embarrassing. Expect the same for Simmons
in business contracts/negotiations, u always ALWAYS account for the worst case scenarios. any business manager who ignores this part and blindly believes in only one possible outcome without finding multiple ways to alleviate that said outcome is putting their company and their own jobs at risk. with a simmons trade, you're basically committing to simmons as the main franchise piece with no other way out. for casuals with no brain like drock who thinks u can just ship out john wall on a whim, this obviously isn't something they can see. the same type of idiot who thinks after trading for simmons, u trade for aaron gordon to surround wall and simmons with non-shooting threats. no one here is saying herro is an adequate trade for harden, bc let's be honest, no one in the nba really is. but at least with herro, there's multiple ways for the rockets to maneuver with even more cap flexibility, less big money commitment, and by the time wall gets off the books in 3 yrs... you'd have room for at least 2 max slots along with a re-signed herro. with simmons, you're basically betting all your marbles that simmons is your franchise cornerstone who will lead you to the championship... in a 2-3 yr timeframe. do you honestly believe simmons is a no.1 championship type player right now? without the ability to further add any quality pieces? if so, then go ahead and go all in. and since when was a 19 yr old rookie averaging those numbers considered a bad thing? so harden, kawhi, klay thompson, devin booker, jayson tatum, paul george, tmac, kobe, steve nash... they all must've sucked bc they didn't put up star numbers as a rookie.
That's going small. He also went old and slow. But you're right about Simmons's shooting (although I think Simmons could do a better job than Westbrook). It's outrageously stupid of Simmons not to develop a functional Jump shot. It's really unprofessional.
