Worse case scenario Herro will remain a solid shooter, the guy is just 19 with plenty of room to improve. Simmons will probably never develop a solid jump shot and he is very difficult to build around.

I like Simmons, big fan really, but Harden is a few levels above him.

If not for Harden trying to force his way out, I wouldn't even entertain this trade.

No reasonable NBA fan/media would think its anywhere close to equal value without picks/other players attached.

And even then, still hate this trade. This is hardly a MVP for MVP swap.

Interesting thought. What would be the player you would trade Harden for just because, if he never demanded a trade. The scenarios wouldn’t be close to what I’m reading.

Harden under normal circumstances would garner a huge get but under these Current circumstances it’s somewhat limited. If the Rockets were actually offering him under their own free will with the option of keeping him( real leverage) the return would have been far, far higher.

    It is what it is.

Wait! Are you referring to me using multiple accounts? What would be my purpose for joining this forum 18 years ago just so that I can start posting today about a potential trade?

I'm really surprised at how I'm being received. I am a loyal reader of this forum and I love the Rockets. I just got tired of reading everyone insisting on the Sixers trading Simmons with multiple picks. I thought I could add some insight as to why that won't happen. Guess I should have not bothered.

More like 3 since he could technically still force a trade or sign a qo when his rookie scale contract is up, but yeah, that's not something that usually happens so you're most likely right.

Agreed. I would love to see him on the court at the same time as Gordon. We need another decent 3-point shooter.

Harris will never live up to that contract, i wouldn't be shocked if one of the holdups between Rockets and Sixers turns out to be exactly that, Morey trying to dump that contract here for Gordon and PJ.

i knew this was coming. He’s not the first disgruntled player to request/ demand a trade and not recoup a big haul in return.

we are talking about a in his prime superstar. I just can’t swallow selling low.

Harris is used in a wrong way in Philly, would be stoked if we can get him for EG and Tucker.

It is what is unfortunately. If this goes through Riley will be laughing out loud. Herro is nice but nothing close to harden. If anyone can get Harden into supreme physical shape it’s pat Riley who is a master motivator.

I believe the Sixers would do that in a heartbeat! I agree that Harris was misuseed. When Harris was with the clippers when shot 50/40/90 and was well on his way to being an all-star. Sixers over traded for him as we do for everyone and his production immediately slumped under Bret Brown.

I believe that Harris will have a huge bounce-back year and then be traded next off-season.

There is no equal value return, maybe Giannis.

    But still hate it.

Harden is so unique in skillset and offensive proficiency, who just finds ways to hone his offense even more season after season.

And he's now become a plus defender more than a decade into his NBA career.

Perennial MVP candidate and has led NBA in scoring (3×), steals and assists.

    Crazy.

I would actually love to see Harden in Miami's offense. They have alot of cutting, off-the-ball screens, etc. I think it would be so much easier for him to get a cleaner shot as opposed to having to do so much work going one-on-one to get his shot.

No ash, trust me you don't want anything to do with that contract...Harris isn't a bad player, he's just a good scorer and solid rebounder, but he's poor in every single other aspect. Could still be ok/decent at half of the money he makes, but he's making the max for 4 years, go look at those numbers, that's absolutely awful and imo, the worst contract in the league.

Which team do you root for???

I've never even seen you on CF before.

    I'm suspecting a burner account.
