for ppl thinking u take the more accomplished player right now in a scenario where u trade that player later... u do realize that simmons spends all of his offseasons in LA hanging out with bron's crew and klutch sports? by the time simmons has 2 yrs left in his contract (which is 2 years from now) he's a likely risk to hold the rockets hostage to bolt to LA... do we really want to deal with this drama again? at that point, rockets might be forced to take some garbageass offer bc no other team is gonna be willing to offer anything of value to someone who has his sights set on LA.
There's a chance hero might want to bolt and sign a qualitying offer after his rookie contract is up. There's a chance he doesn't improve much. There's a multitude of chances occurring. You can't base your decision on what ifs. You can only make decisions in life and business based on what is the right or correct move (in your estimation).
I dont understand this "put him in a box" nonsense. Are we supposed to disregard someone's physical traits, playstyle, position, athletic ability and just evaluate based on faith? Past superstars in the NBA have all been freaks of nature. The exception being point guards. The only way for a "normal" person like Tyler Herro to ascend to superstardom in the NBA is if he develops handle and court vision that rival Steve Nash. Can someone who didn't even play point in the college rank develop into one of the greatest PG of all time? Sure, anything is possible but i'm not betting on that. Him not being a finished product does not mean anything. Chris Clemons isn't a finished product either. Physical limitation is a real barrier.
And the guy isn't a point guard. Didn't even play point in Kentucky. But he's magically going to become the GOAT because uhhh dont put him in a box? I think Ben Simmons has a better chance of developing a 3point shot than that happening.
Man. Simmons is nice, but Herro is tempting. I wonder what kind of upside Herro has as a primary ball handler with Silas... Miami would have to start trading assets for a boatload of picks for this to even come close.
I think i figured out your true identity now. Are you Stephon Marbury? https://www.celticsblog.com/2009/7/25/962688/do-not-put-stephon-in-a-box
I happen to follow Marbury when he played overseas in the CBA, and now coaching there. He is actually a lot more humbled than Starbury the former NBA starlet. @Roomba
Starbury's catchphrase was "don't put me in a box". He said that literally hundreds of times during a live stream after his knicks exodus. I wish there was still footage. Crazy sh**.
Yeah, he told in interviews he was crazy back then and barely avoided mental asylum and the Eastern culture calmed him.
The first sentence in the post you replied to 100% applies to you. You don’t understand and that’s not surprising. Tell me something I don’t know
There’s a chance Simmons will be able to shoot. Oh wait nvm. It’s funny how your average casual fan can watch westbrick for a year and tell themselves they want to go through that mess all over again. Only this time harden won’t be there to hide behind. Guess that’s why they’re considered casual
