Appreciate your insight because you can think critically without usual nonsense I see from the haters , your last paragraph I think is on the money that there will be success and as a result more people will validate that the outbreak has diminished enough that it warrants not taking it at all
I'm getting the Pfizer vaccine Thursday. I will likely create a thread posting about any adverse reactions, if at all.
im personally going to let uk and this initial wave of beta testers go first.. i havent read more about the vaccines it seems the operate in various ways.. some are 70% and others 90% i dont view a vaccine as a partisan issue and if some dont take it then power to them? does them not taking it hurt anyone but themselves? i probably will take it by memorial day i suspect. probably not any sooner than st patricks day. that would have been a year inside
my only concern about medicines relates back to the thalidomide story and i get this vaccine and my nipples fall off 5 years from now. obviously we cant know long term effects of a new vaccine when it hasnt been many years. no time machine for that. but that said you eat doritos and other junk so I wonder how thats any different than any other new processed product you are eating. no data yet its new. doritos could be cancer causing... i have a hole developing in my stomach from sour patch kids
This is a good point on this, people freaking out saying I may be sterile if I take the vaccine and other weird concerns are stated by everyone regardless of politics..(I’ve heard it) .but I like your point about the Doritos or heck the I12 iPhone in my example ...we don’t know everything about long term concerns but it’s understandable people have these concerns
I'll get one for sure but will wait and see which one I think is best after millions of other guinea pigs go first.
Health care worker. I got an email from my manager saying our hospital will get it's shipment on Dec. 16. 1st tier will be docs and nurses. We in radiology are 2nd tier, so the day after. I'm actually looking forward to getting vaccinated. We got 80 positive cases for a hospital that has only 230 beds. Some of my friends will wait. I'm thinking that is a mistake because our covid patients load are significantly increasing by the day, so it's only a matter of time we will contract the disease.
I really wont get it because there will be none left for me at least in 2021. I will be in the last priority in the vaccination program. First will be nursery homes and carers. Then healthcare workers. Then over 80, over 70 and over 65 and immunosuppresed/heart ,liver, etc conditions. Then police, teachers etc Then MANDATORY school and army vaccination. And then good luck having any left for me.
You will definitely get the vaccine. These RNA vaccines are ridiculously easy to make in comparison to traditional vaccines that use a live virus. It's just a question of time to figure out logistics.
We haven't eliminated polio or other vax-able diseases. I expect covid to be seasonal and new strains to emerge year to year. The other problem is that dipshit "vaccine is around the corner" president didn't order enough to cover immediate needs. We get 100 million alottment for the first round, yet that covers 2 required doses. Half ass solution to keep flimsy promise is NOT ****ING GUD.
