    That was my initial thought. All Houston and Austin have to do is look to seek status as a nation state under the Union. With all the Red States leaving the Union they’ll have almost no Congressional representation for statehood. Houston and New Orleans can each create their own nation states that then control large areas of port entry for trade as well.

    This whole succession nonsense will never happen... why??? Because the red states would be a broke ass third world country completely surrounded by “the enemy” with one of the most powerful militaries in the world.

    Good luck Red States. Go for it. The Confederacy can live again this time outmanned, outspent, and with worse geographical advantages.
