I just think Simmons is skilled enough to not have a 3 pt shot, it'd be nice but I just don't see it with him. Out of what's available, I think Simmons is the best foundational piece. As far as comparisons ... he's hard to compare to one player. He can switch like Draymond, he can attack in transition like Westbrook and Magic and create like Lebron..... but can't shoot.
I don't agree at all. Dinwiddie/Lavert/Kyrie isn't rebuilding, it's settling for playoff mediocrity. Simmons is as close a foundational piece that we will get for what's available.
you've proven ignorance takes precedent. you can continue your hot takes with someone else. You've provided more than enough of laughable board material to this point already
First, I am in sports and athletic testing. I’m very aware of the differences. Probably more so than you sir. Second, that 33.5 is both the same one step vert with both being a 30 inch standing vert. The rest of the numbers you are putting out are from where? LSU athletic testing? Where they said he has a 41 inch max? Go look at how many others had the same vert. LSU is known for fudging their numbers.
Also, 3/4 sprint was 3.04. Absolutely elite. But not 2.90. Herro at 3.4 is not slow by any stretch Herro also had a slightly better agility testing. All I’m saying is Simmons is not some freak in the mold of Giannis. He is a good athlete, specially for his size. He’s not overly long for his height. Elite speed Herro isn’t a scrub athletically, tested solid and is an overall above average athlete.
His biggest problem is his T-rex arm. You know what they say about players with a shorter wingspan than height?
I agree he’s not a long player. Neither is Simmons. He has same wingspan as Tucker while being 5-6 inches taller.
Read the ESPN link that I attached in the post you responded to. The max vert absolutely is ELITE, so are the agility and quickness metrics. This a 6'10 vs. 6'5 player. Your comparison describing their athleticism as even remotely similar is incredulity inducing.
And that is where you are wrong. That ESPN article was based off of LSU measurements that were found to be incorrect. Completely fudged. Im not saying Simmons isn’t a better athlete than Herro. He is. But he’s not a freak like the LSU numbers said. And Herro isn’t some unathletic scrub. Chad Ford measurements that I posted are more accurate. As a quick research, look up Kevin Love combine results and compare them to Simmons.
Herro shouldn't even be in the conversation as a centerpiece......pleeeeeaaaasse! Media concoction..once again. Of those four only Philly has the goods in Ben Simmons..along with being able to lay their hands on a ton of picks.
sure made a difference hitting shots in one of the nba's best defenders face. as well as being already an elite shooter in the league. maybe more players need shorter arms
not only do you get a top 5 draft talent at 20 whose already excelled in year 1, added young fill ins, draft picks, and you clear a 3 year supermax off your books. Looks absolutely great to me for a rebuilding team. A lot of people in here need to look at the question a bit more closely. It says package, while most of ya'll are talking as if it's a 1 for 1 trade. It isn't "If both players are available (in a package) which would you choose?" This gears towards what pg13 was traded for SGA, Gallo, picks. Rather than what Kawhi essentially was traded for when they swapped for Derozan
