Just me speculating but I'm pretty sure Harden is just allowing a restaurant group to use his name. He likely has no money invested into it.

the most interesting part to this is the Stone/Morey dynamic. They probably reviewed almost all players and contracts together. What did they say about Simmons? Where they laughing at the max deal given to a non-shooter in Simmons? Secretly think he’s a superstar in waiting?

They should both have a good idea of what the other thinks. Just interesting to see how it all plays out.

    Harden/Tucker for Simmons/Thybulle/D.Green (expiring)/1-2 picks

Unfortunately I can't see Wall/Simmons working too well together unless one or both come back with a radically improved jumper, but that's hard to see. Either way you don't pass up on a talent like Simmons, who's on a different level talent-wise than anyone else who's come up in trade talks (Herro? Seriously?).

    Cousins
    Wood
    Simmons
    House
    Thybulle
    EG
    Da.Green
    Wall

Not too bad of a rotation if Green/EG rediscover their 3-ball and push 40%. If Wood/DMC can hold down the paint on defense, we could be great on that end. Simmons is elite and versatile as hell on D

I know who Simmons is and what he can do, I have been watching him since LSU.

I still ask, what has he proven?

You can pass on a talent like Simmons because after you max him your team is doomed to 1st round exits.

What is Simmons elite at and why has not gotten out of the 2nd round and was almost swept last year?

If he was so elite why could he not even make the NCAA tournament?

Simmons didn't play in the last year's playoffs.

Also losing to the Raptors in game 7 with a miracle buzzer beater is actually something to be proud of.

Not saying I want Simmons, but your two points are not even correct

Lol.. sounds like you proposing a rhetorical question then.

Anyway will play along :) Same could be said for Harden .. "what has he proven"? Great Regular Season performer but inconsistent to VERY poor playoffs?
Flame out in West Conference Finals? Bad Defense with great regular season offense. Bad Teammate (couldn't work it out with Dwight, couldn't work it out with CP, couldn't work it out with Westbrook and now demands a Trade) .

With all that being said, no one wants to trade Harden but he's demanding a trade. What do you do? Who's out there that is better than Simmons + picks?

You said you watched him at LSU then obviously you didn't watch close enough as you should know he injured his foot and was out most of the season.

Same for "almost swept last year". He hurt his back and missed the entire playoffs.

Granted you could be fishing for folks to say he's injury prone but really it would be easier to just say he's injury prone.

Simmons is a young once in a generation talent who is fair compensation for an aging potential alchoholic/drug abusive type of player. No brainer for the Rockets. This is all about the future, not the past.

So what do you propose and who do you trade for? This is under the assumption Harden throws a fit and sucks it up in the season. Everyone knows Harden is the better player. We're trading out a dollar and trying to get back as close to a dollar if possible. That's why Philly should be adding picks. Don't tell me the Nets potential offer.

Good point. I just checked the stats and Ben Simmons is so bad offensively that he scored 0 points in the 19-20 playoffs. How embarrassing.

I am asking the poster that said he was proven, what has he proven?

    How is that rhetorical?

Harden has gotten to the finals, the WCF twice and has been out of the 1st round multiple times, MVP.

Westbrook left because he wanted his own team not because of issues with Harden.

Work it out with Dwight? Really?

I will ding Harden about CP3 but we don't know all of what happened.

Harden has always won more than he lost going back to college, Simmons not so much.

When has anybody ever said Harden is a bad teammate?

Interesting how you chose to anwer to @Codman response this way.

Cod was responding to Harden's group of core players that support him.

Eric Gordon is obviously NOT in that circle and I've suspected that for a while now with his passive aggressive complaints about his role EVERY season.

He complains when he is a starter and he complains when he is the 6th man, he complains that there is not enough ball movement and also complains that he does not get to dominate the ball enough, then states that he doesnt care what his role is only that it is clear.

It's always the system's fault, another player, coach's rotation, that he cannot play at his best.

When he should pointing at himself and admitting that he has been on a long ass shooting slump, cant dribble or pass worth a damn OR is doing the small and necessary things in off season AND in season to keep his body right.

Eric Gordon injuries are a friggin pattern that has consistently defined his entire career. That is not on any coach, system, teammates or role.

    That is entirely on HIM.
