you're an idiot if you are expecting to get a young superstar in return for harden. an all-star caliber player is the best you will ever get.
there’s no doubt that Herro has that “it” factor. There’s no doubt he’s more exciting to watch. but there’s plenty of doubt that he’ll ever be an all star much less all nba or #1 guy on the team. and I think you severely underrate defense. and underrating defense has become very tiresome for the last near decade ofnrockets basketball. There’s no way in hell I’m doing a deal Harden for Herro, some other Heat scrubs (Robinson, numb... anyone not named Butler/Bam) and picks. that would be insanely low value. how many GMs do you think would trade Ben Simmons for Tyler Herro? I think the answer is zero.
I don’t underestimate defense. In fact that’s what I’ve focused on for years. I think plenty of gm’s would, so I’d say youre easily wrong there. Some of y’all are acting like Simmons is some super star. He isn’t. Rockets wouldn’t even make the playoffs if he is the best player. So what’s the point of even having him if he’s supposed to be this bpa Line up Herro and Simmons together. Who would morey go with. Certainly not the broken jumpshot he already went through that nightmare and took the first flight out when he had the chance.
you dont know ****. go ahead and show us all the young for old superstar trades in the NBA. stupid fukk
i really think the way to evaluate a player is in how many situations they can or cannot stay on the court. This is perhaps where Simmons shines some, in that he’s obviously an elite defender, passer and scorer in the paint. what I worry about with him is the westbrook treatment in a contested series, but he has other strengths that could still make him useful. it is “the other things” people overlook when evaluating someone like Herro. “Hes such a great scorer” will get lost if he has tunnel vision and can’t guard Corey Brewer. Being an elite player is HARD. so let’s see what happens. That 62% ft shooting doesn’t give me much hope
Cf polls are some of worst means of judgement. Especially in recent years when the board has been littered with so many bad casual posters. We’ve lost of the better active posters. The majority have been laughably wrong for a long time now on so many polls I lost count. It’s gotten to the point where the minority has definitely become the right side to be on
Here's what I'd do: Rockets get: Iggy Olynyk Bagley Hield Herro Robinson Miami first Heat get: Harden Kings get: Gordon Nunn Two Miami firsts Rockets probably cut Iggy and Olynyk or flip them, if possible for seconds.
right he’s also been on a team with an elite big who requires touches in the paint, I think in a fast paced offense with a floor spacing big like woods Simmons could thrive. We’ve played him in the playoffs several times- the shooting concerns are an issue but there’s also times where he gets a rebound and is out in transition and unstoppable. he’s also like u mentioned elite in the paint....like I said he’s not perfect but w all his shooting deficiencies he’s still an all nba player. Get him in a new system new coach. He’s without a doubt a franchise player
I’d rather take Bam Herro and Nunn and draft capital. Simmons has gotten exposed in the postseason every year because of his inability to a core I. The half court game aka he’s a non perimter threat
Herro is supposed to be the better offensive player. But guess who has 60% TS vs. 55% TS. TS = True Shooting For comparison, James Harden has 63% TS. Both Giannis and AD are at 61% TS. Let that sink in fam.
i think that at times. Then I think... the GMs are the guys that let him slip to what 14th? The GMs are the guys who not only didn’t take Luka first, but waited till 3rd and then didn’t even want him. and it’s not like these were that confusing decisions. Who the **** thought Deandre Ayton and Marvin Bagley would be better than Luka? I’m not saying this in hindsight ... I have spots on this board noting how much I liked Luka but it was also kind of everyone did but you’d start hearing about these executives saying the other two guys were going higher and how Luka isn’t athletic enough and be like “ok, maybe they’re right and Luka isn’t the obvious pick what do I know I’m not an nba scout or GM”... but no... half these guys are idiots, too. where am I going with this? When it comes to law of large numbers... on the whole We’re all idiots I guess. Fans and execs alike. A better pole would be on nba Reddit just if it got lore votes but otherwise I think the results make perfect sense. there might be the 30% like you (and you might be right... it’s high risk but potentially high reward) that think Herro is the better asset.
Listen every fan base has homers and blind spots- lord knows the Celtics do lol and I know the rockets do but heat fans with the “culture” are something else. u can’t take what fan bases say too seriously.
