That didn't work in 1789, trying to actually split the country didn't work in 1860 and we're not going to divide it now in the way that you're arguing. Why should people from Austin or Houston have to move or people from Fresno or Upstate NY.

I don't think we can figure out how to live with one another at least along political lines.

You can still have the USA, but you'd break it up into political unions. One being the red union and the other the blue union. With each having its own court system and congress. You can even have one president if you want to simplify things.

So yeah, basically just have two congresses. For a law to apply to both blue and red unions, it has to pass both sets of congresses. But to apply to one, just one union. This way everyone is happy.

You don't have to move if you don't want to but then you live under the law of the mass majority. More would get done. You wouldn't have the crazy gridlock.
