Wait you want to discuss something but you don't like it when someone brings up an exact point of the conversation and you want to exclude it because it doesn't fit your narrative.

    Are you a Republican....lol....

This is the kinda thing i've been b****in about for years...

I either got told 'thats how it is - you gotta pamper your stars' or was met with vehement denial that I could be so evil as to suggest that St Harden could ever been guilty of such pettiness...

    'Cornerstones and roleplayers'

"Those who matter dont mind - and those who mind dont matter..."

I think DM kept a lid on things... when he left - Pandoras box opened...

Thats why I wanted JVG... to come in and instill the correct culture - like Pops in SA....

This is one year. They had to do all that as extra incentives to bring them to LAC. Harden has had 9 years of this. Kawhi and George don't have a multi year record of bouncing star players and coaches.

Now the other teams are saying NO!!! We dont want a guy who believes he can do what he wants when his is under contract. Went about the wrong way and everyone now knows yes you are a superstar but it is about the team!! All the Rockets in their interviews have been stating for the Team!!

all these superstars are getting pampered like this...don’t let the media fool u into thinking Harden is special

it happens because these superstars generate most of the revenue and make these franchises relevant in the 1st place

Jordan played with a Hall of Famer in his prime.

My point was that the Heat pampered Lebron if you don't think so you're kidding yourself.

Franchise players are very hard to come by.

When you have one, you have to cater to them.

You can always trade them but it is not easy to find another franchise player in return.

And if you trade the franchise player for pieces, you will always lose.

yeah, they just openly collude with Lebron like AD or travel to NY during the season to rehab with their own people while cutting off all communication with the organization like Kawhi instead

Of course, but can we at least agree he should have been less pampered and this probably why Westbrook and CP3 are not mad at having left.

#1 Duncan entered the league literally 25 years ago. Not sure that is the best example. Even with Duncan the Spurs relaxed the rules at times. He was Orlando bound until the Spurs let his family travel on the team plane and stay at the team hotel.

#2 LeBron had special perks with the Heat and again he isn't the best example because he LEFT the Heat and now in Cleveland and LA he has incredible leeway. He has made the entire team sit on a charted flight because he decided he wanted to extend his personal shoot around. James has in the middle of the season just decided to take a vacation.

In the modern NBA the absolute top superstars get incredible perks.

Westbrook wanted out because HE was used to being the one catered too.

Not true. He has played in a Finals with OKC and has also lost in the playoffs to the eventual NBA champions many times.

...btw Jordan is far from the only star who gets preferential treatment - literally they all do. Lebron has made a career and a sports agency out of it for christ sakes and honestly I would imagine some form of coddling for at least the top 25 of players in the league. Good players in this day an age understand their teams need them more than they need their teams.

Nook nailed it. Really the 2 examples are the "edge cases" for stars. Not the norm. Also, those organizations are edge cases.
