All the more reason for him to sweeten the pot & start trading draft picks that will be exercised after he's gone from Philly.
Why is this a thread? You couldn't have added this to the half dozen other threads about a player who's not even on the roster right now?
Why??? Because people are all saying Morey doesn’t want to get rid of Simmons and I just provided the absolute undeniable reason why that is a false narrative and a deal will likely occur. Morey’s whole concept of basketball is built around the the three pointer (and shooting 50+ threes a game). He has to absolutely hate having a player who took a total of 17 threes and made none during a 2 year - 172 game period. Stone, with this knowledge, should be able to take Morey to the cleaners and get multiple picks to rid him of Simmons and provide him with his favorite player in Harden.
Should be noted that Simmons is not considered a bad 3 point shooter, just a reluctant one. Most of his 3 point shots are end of quarter heaves which means he has taken far fewer 3 point jump shots.
The game has evolved to the point that any good player is expected to be able to at drain an open shot even if it's a 3.
