My thoughts exactly. Usually Congress doesn't just do character assassinations for private citizens. Usually that's reserved to leaking & letting media report if there's a political angle. Putting the US Government seal on it just solidifies how far Trump has taken the US government in terms of using the tools of government for pure corruption & political gain. If Congress uncovers crimes then those crimes need to be reported up to DOJ in the normal fashion, and then DOJ can assign a prosecutor & bring charges that they then feel confident that 12 jurors will find credible to have brought those charges. But the Republicans don't want to do that because they know virtually no DOJ prosecutors would want that on their record, and probably wouldn't bring charges because it would disgrace their career when the grand jury refused to indict or a jury threw out the charges. So character assassination & innuendo it is. The Trumplican party way.
I'm sure Biden understands this is nothing more than for appearance sakes during an election year. I don't think he has any genuine concern that Hunter Biden will actually be indicted. So ya I agree. He just needs to ignore this white noise.

Trump has made two main attacks on Biden. 1- he's so old, he can't talk for more than 5 sec 2- something about his son with China and Russia #1, outside of his followers, was so exaggerated that it backfired: Trump exaggerate, bs and lies. #2 looks dead as soon as it started. Again, outside of his followers, it just didn't land. The one interesting thing here is Biden didn't engage. He didn't punch back. For #1, the DNC speech and the 1st debate were enough. For #2, he defended himself and his son and he did not attack Trump's family. He had plenty of ammunition and opportunity to, but decided not to. It's part of his overall messaging: remember that we used to not attack family, that we kept politic out of family, and that we were civil and decent. There have been lots of pressure and urge for him to hit back. He stuck to his messaging. I think that help him with independent and some conservative.

You could investigate basically any private equity firm that is based in the US but buys and sells companies globally. Hunter was a PE shark and those firms should never be allowed to exist or should be heavily regulated. That being said there is nothing surprising if his PE firm committed tax fraud... they all do. The only reason his firm was based out of the US and not Bermuda is likely because he knew he was a higher target because of his father. Had he been like every of PE shark he wouldn’t have to worry about the Feds because of the Bermuda loophole. Still if they find fraud and take him to court, this district attorney will be in for an embarrassment of a court case because of the president and Repugs like Lindsay Graham who basically has given Hunter Biden lifetime immunity in a court hearing because they have made the pursuit of Hunter such a public politically staged corrupt use of power. That court case will be more of a court case on Donald Trump and Lindsay Graham than it will be on Hunter Biden.
