So once he was he was not once what he was we cheaped out and whose to say what he was actually worth?

But thanks for making my point for me, players are disposable and any power they have they should look at what's optimum for them.

    They don't owe anybody, anything.

    Maybe 2 years, $20M.

Honestly, not a bad investment, assuming James sticks around.

I hadn’t heard Silas say that. I’m kinda surprised considering Jeff Green was our lone bright spot alongside James in a decent amount of time for us during the bubble.

I agree players always need to treat things like a business and do what's best for them.

However sometimes players do owe some organizations. For example Morey signed Parsons when he would've gone to Europe cuz nobody wanted him, Parsons owed the Rox then for taking a chance on him. And then Morey released him a year earlier from his deal so he would make the big bucks a year early, that's actually millions of dollars Parsons owed the Rox org cuz that was also the final year he was healthy, if he was retained for a year longer he would've stayed on that crap rookie deal and wouldnt have gotten a max cuz he barely played.

Harden doesn't owe the Rox for trading for him and making him great but he does owe the Rockets for trading for his childhood buddy WB and losing 4 picks/swaps in the process. They only got rid of Paul cuz of his agreed on the trade. So to bail now after the Rox traded so many assets to help him win just isn't right no matter how he feels about the ownership.

2/20 for PJ would be a fair deal given how much he’s given us.

They’re obviously skeptical because of his age, but let’s see how this team plays and maybe if we do well and James stays he’ll get one.

    Big IF’s, but we’ll see.

Why does he have to earn your trust?

Who are you to feel that way.

Why is trust and love transactional, did he promise you something?

When has he ever not tried and why does this make you think he will not try?

He won't get that extension cuz the Rox are already hard capped. If anything they will prob trade EG to clear up space to sign Cousins next year if he is ballin so no way in hell PJ gets that type of money.

You will be disappointed if you think Wood is Jeff Green type player, he is just not a secondary playmaker.

But what he does he does exceptionally well, think Clint Capela but with a 3ball.

This season makes me so nervous.

Rookie HC and GM, two former all stars who haven’t been themselves in years, a young unproven big with immense potential and a disgruntled role player and super star.

I will say Stone has done very well in his short time and Silas is looking promising, but has yet to hit the court for us to see.

I’ll be gripping my couch any time Wall or Boogie are on the floor and praying they don’t get injured (knock on Christian Wood).

Wood is very very promising and I really think he’s going to be a legit candidate for MIP.

All of the aforementioned things rest on whether or not James, if he does play, will even give us another shot. If he doesn’t and we tank, PJ will be dealt as well and all the Rockets we’ve known the past number of seasons will be reduced to Gerald Green.

Tough and nervous times ahead, but here we go.

They’re only hard capped for this season. PJ could get an extension in the summer or as you alluded to, Ego could get traded at some point and then PJ could get extended sooner.

Yup and Cousins only making vet min this season. Next year when they have capspace is when Cousins needs to get paid as well. I'm not a capologist but I'm assuming if Cousins is healthy and sperstar he'd sign for more than 10M which is Tucker's potential extension. Maybe if Ego gets traded for pure cap relief theyd be able to afford both Cousins and Tucker but as it stands now he won't get that ext.

The Rockets won't have cap space next season unless they trade Harden and EG for expiring contracts. If Demarcus plays well, the most the Rockets will have to offer is the NT or Tax MLE, dependent on what moves they decide to make this season.

I really don't disagree with anything you have said here except that he owes because of the WB trade, there are far to many unknown variables about how everything has shaken out since that happened and once Morey was let go IMO all of that was moot.

I think this behavior is about forcing Tillmans hand and letting him know these penny pinching behaviors are not gonna cut it anymore.

That's what I'm saying. If Cousins plays well highly doubt he will take MLE or a vet min deal lol, this is like the 3rd year he be making the vet min. Rox will make retaining Cousins a priority over PJ and thats why they wont extend PJ now.

It would be foolish to give Tucker an extension.

He's already 35 years old and he's barely above replacement level already. I get why he wants a big extension, because he knows he's nearing the end and he wants to be able to keep cashing those checks long after he's completely washed as a player. IMO he's already there.

The owner who approved the trade was Tilman. Harden owes Tillman for that trade not Morey, in fact Morey didn't want to trade Cp3 in the first place.

Harden can always force Tillman's hand by not signing that extension. Not reporting to camp is just causing a distraction for everyone. It's not like Fertitty isn't trying he just got Cousins, Wood and Wall.
