“I’ve been through all types of things in my life, all kinds of obstacles,” says Wall. “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest people. Keep doubting me. I’m healthy. I’m back.” https://www.si.com/nba/2020/12/09/john-wall-ready-for-relaunch-daily-cover
Hakeem? We didn’t underpay him. I mean we TRIED to, and it wasn’t underpaying him — he was done. No longer Hakeem the Dream. Could we have paid him for his services like Lakers did Kobe? Yah, perhaps, but Hakeem in 2001 was not worth $13 mil in terms of on court production. He definitely was not worth the $17 mil that Toronto paid him.
Personally I think it’s necessary. Time for Harden to get some tough love. He has two years on his deal left. We don’t need to beg you to do your job. We don’t need to kiss your ass and tell you your beard is pretty. You need to come to work. And if you don’t, we will move on without you and let your talent rot at home or ship you off to hell aka Knicks or Utah. Silas is showing the team HE is in charge, not James Harden. And I love it!
Y’all really need to tread lightly with these rookies. Too many times this place gets ultra hyped because of TC reports and summer league/ pre season games only to find out the player actually sucks when playing real games.
I.D.I.O.T. - This definitely deserves it's own thread. Great article. I realize all former all-stars have fluff pieces like this to try and build their value back up but this is my favorite quote from the article" I averaged 20 points and 9 assists on one leg, What do you think I can do with two?" Also, I love how he stayed engaged with the team and coaches and they rave about his bball IQ basically acting as an assistant coach to Scott Brooks. Still watched tons of film including the series between Wizards and Celtics in 2017 that went to 7 games. Also, worked a ton on his shot with his assistant Mclean who he seems close to. Sounds like a great assistant coach. Sad to hear about Wall's mom but he seems in good spirits and ready to use basketball as an outlet. A hungry, healthy Wall with new found respect and passion for basketball? Would take Wall + a 1st for Westbrook any day of the week.
True, but the team really seems to have prioritized finding a few roleplayers among the rookies. They’re not looking for stars and Silas is probably more open to developing young players than Dantoni who didn’t play young players at all. I think players that are limited defensively are the most likely not to make the team so Clemons is probably gone.
P.J ran out of money in trying to buy new Shoes. His Shoe Collection literally can be the Whole Population of Africa. They need new shoes.
Silas has already shot down this idea of playing Wood as point center, like Jeff Green. But playing Wood like Capela with a 3ball is still damn amazing.
I’m curious as to what type of contract he wants in an extension. I get that he’s older but dudes the type I’d want to keep around in the organization and in the locker room.
