Morey was always willing to trade for rentals and give up good assets in the process. You are accustomed to watching a stingy GM operate, I am not. I am used to having a stingy owner though :( .

Daryl Morey is ABSOLUTELY sending Tilman Fertitta a christmas card, love letters, gift baskets, you name it.

Mcmahon and national media are stupid AF!

i mean u can argue that by doing that look at the position u are in currently? Again I respect it. But at the end of the day neither of our teams have won the ultimate prize which is the goal right? Just different approaches

Im not gonna argue about fit, but as long as you can catch and shoot, you can be a fit with anyone in this league. Any team with a top 10 player on it that gets Harden is an instant contender and will be competing for the title.

That's why it's BS speculation. Golden State offers Wiggins (negative value) and all their other players to match salary? That makes no sense in any world.

We kept our superstar happy for 8 years. I feel it turned out okay. Sometimes it goes to ****, it happens. At least Morey always roller the dice, it's too bad out assets were never good enough to get that third star he sought. We almost got Jimmy Butler, it would have mortgaged our future, but we'd likely be in a different, good scenario right now.

a team will increase their offer in due time

teams are trying to see if the Rockets will cave and they can get Harden for peanuts in some type of fleecing...also, everyone is always optimistic about their squad during training camp and preseason, but then reality hits

nah. I’d rather hold Harden than make the Brown deal, and don’t have any doubts that Simmons and more is available.

this happens when virtually every star becomes available. Fans tie themselves in knots trying to come up with cheapskate packages, and almost always the team trading the star gets a massive return. I know because Houston fans have done this forever.

given that Harden is among the healthiest players in the league, is under contract for 2-3 years, and is perhaps the best offensive player in the history of the league, I’m not terribly concerned about the package. I’d prefer to keep him, but if we don’t, we will get a good return. I just don’t think Jaylen is that. And I don’t think Boston will or should offer Tatum, so there’s not a deal there IMO.

Yea, like I said countless times Simmons is the best deal. If he isn’t tho then your not getting much better than brown unfortunately. And I’m really not tying myself up in knots literally we trade for harden great- we don’t trade for harden great. We are absolutely in a great position either way.

If JRue got the package he did, then Houston will easily get more for Harden.

Simmons is probably the best “proven” piece we could get. Outside of him, I think you’d be looking at packages recently drafted top picks and future picks. There’s also Siakam if Toronto doesn’t think he’s good enough to attract Giannis, and Miami could be interesting. I could see Denver swinging for the fences, and GSW could make an interesting package around Klay.

in all of these cases, Harden becomes the best player on the team and dramatically improves that teams profile.

Bill has some cringy takes in that segment. He even goes as far as saying Steph, Harden and Draymond isn’t a championship team...lol.

I don’t know where this is going, but I’m less and less interested in James Harden’s happiness.

As far as I am concerned, Rockets are always first to me. Love Harden, but my loyalty is to the Rockets

Ok, but McHale? Lol. IDGAF what that guy has to say.

Remember Kyle Lowry was not a huge fan of McHale either....

It would be but it will take a few months for both parties to reach that point. Probaly after a few months of haggling both parties will eventually reach that point but there has been no negotiations apparently from any side so moreys initial offer will not be Simmons straight off the bat. By the trade deadline I envision Harden traded

I get the criticisms and agree with a good deal of it.

But to be fair, he did push in his chips for kyrie... And the results were not ideal lol.

As for AD and kawhi both were deadset on LA. Could be argued it would've been worth it as a rental regardless.

Unless something unforseen occurs, the rockets best hope for a good return is to trade Harden by the trade deadline.

If not, he's suddenly a player with only 1 year left of team control and a ton of leverage.

No, then he'll be a guy that either needs to be traded or a guy that is about to lose a fortune signing with a team as a FA and he'd only be able to go to a team with cap space.

Think you read that wrong. It says Morey won't be getting a card from Tillman.
