This is my first thread, although I’ve been a casual fan of this site for well over a decade. I come to clutchfans probably dozens of times a day and honestly it’s probably my main source of knowledge when it comes to all things Rockets.

I am so thankful us Rockets fans have each other because seriously bros.... it’s been rough being a Rockets fan for some time. I grew up basically eating, drinking, and dreaming basketball. I grew up going to the Calvin Murphy school of basketball and getting plenty of opportunities to share the game with others to make some seriously life long friendships.

This sport means everything to me. Now in my thirties I’ve seen how much our world has changed and bickered about power, control and greed. This isn’t a political thread it’s just facts. Basketball used to be a game about bringing us together despite our differences. Now these days all you see is the same crap going on with the players I’ve grown idolizing. They are all about themselves and have forgotten how they are shaping the minds of kids that are also growing up idolizing them.

You guys are fricking role models and all you are doing is teaching these kids that loyalty is no longer a thing. Players used to have so much hunger to stick with there teams and there cities that had so much love for them.

I thought James was different. I was ready to go to war for this man with anyone that challenged me. I thought he had the determination and drive that we grew up seeing in our game. I guess I was wrong.

With that being said, don’t expect me in your corner anymore unless you can sincerely apologize to your teammates and actually convince me you mean it. Yes you deserve success, a ring and a great legacy. But, to just crap on this city and community because you don’t like your boss? No one likes there boss, I get it, but we still go to work everyday because we know that...
    1.) We are getting paid
2.) We know that others are counting on us

You lost me man and I don’t think I’m alone here.

I’m so sorry harden, that we spoiled you and shielded you from what a normal job is, that people make minimum wage and still have to show up for work. You have 40 million guaranteed reasons to why to just show up.

I’m sorry we did everything you wanted from us including mortgaging our future

I’m sorry that we woulda been ok with everything given this pos owner but you still somehow managed to give him some good rep with your behavior

I’m sorry that you’ll rightfully be rememebered as a selfish player that always choked in big moments when it mattered Most. You’ll be remembered for your finals performance and game 6 where kawhi wasn’t even playing.

    Totally agree with this thread.
As a Harden fan it was us against the world, no one stuck up for him like us rocket fans.
I get he doesn't have a personal gripe against the fans, but it just shows a lack of care, responsibility, and maturity.
Unless theres a drastic turnaround, he really lost his number 1 supporters.

You guys are sounding like a bunch of sensitive drama queens, get over it. He might be gone, he might not. All he did was refuse to honor his contractual duties for a couple days, and because he is so darn good at what he does he got away with it. Ya'll need to stop with the soap opera stuff, man up, recognize the situation and deal with it. What is this, the Hallmark channel? Oxygen?

Apparently some guys here have never left a job because they were unhappy.

I am so sorry for the very limited perspective of the OP. Probably a good man and a loyal hard worker for his bosses, who probably identifies with them and not his coworkers as most Americans are brought up to be. If a coworker has an issue with the boss he probably always sides with the boss.

James and the NBA players are very well paid employees of the billionaires and as sports fans we enjoy watching basketball and the NBA is the pinnacle. I doubt James' coworkers are as loyal to Tillman as you probably are to your boss. They may very well enjoy James standing up to Tillman and do not really see missing a practice or two given his overwhelming skill as being so destructive and a slap in their faces.

Hey maybe you are the boss or a supervisor for the boss. How would I know.

Ain't that right? Look, James was wrong not to honor his contract, but seriously, that's all he did. He didn't rape, kill, rob, or hit anyone. He just didn't show up to work, that's it. People acting like he slapped their mother.

If he doesn't want to be a Rocket, I'll be disappointed, but people here are just going overboard over basketball.

LOL here's my version of man up: I paid plenty of time and money to the Rockets and the NBA. I'm man enough to tell them to F off when I feel like it.

I know you can be a man and still ride nutsacks, but you ought to quit.

Basketball players are paid to play basketball. Basketball players are paid to advertise clothing, shoes, etc. Basketball players are NOT paid to be role models. If you wanted to model your character after a basketball player's character and he turns out to be less than you thought he was, that's honestly on you. James Harden never asked for anyone to view him as a role model.

By the same token it's business as usual for Harden haters like yourself. People might turn on Harden but they haven't liked you yet.

Don't you have some Lin videos to go pleasure yourself too? Or is your Harden dartboard worn out?

Who exactly is actually paid to be a role model? I'm not trying to be facetious, honestly. I think we take our true role models for granted because they could be just like Harden.

That's nice, so you spent a couple dollars, that don't mean you own a man. You paid to watch a game, or bought yourself some gear. Good for you. The fact you feel entitled to complaint makes me think that you are the type of person to hate a woman because she went out on a couple of dates with you and nothing happened before she ghosted you.

Perhaps, the problem is just simply you.
