health insurance is expensive, but it's WAY MORE EXPENSIVE outside of Texas in NY and CALI. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rattlesnake-selfie-results-in-a-153k-medical-bill/ For a man in San Diego, getting bitten by a rattlesnake was just the beginning of his problems. The life-threatening encounter was followed by a shocking medical bill: $153,000 for his treatment. Todd Fassler was bitten earlier this month, reportedly while trying to pose for a selfie with the snake.
Anyone who actually read the article would know that the reason his bill is so high is because of the antivenom monopoly. Has nothing to do with Red Texas Politics vs Blue Cali Politics. I live in Texas and my health insurance is through the roof. I pay almost exactly the same amount just for monthly paycheck deductions as I do for my mortgage. I know you are just trolling cause you think it's funny to troll and beat your chest about Texas and Houston Sports as I like to as well, but you are trivializing something that actually is a pretty big deal. Which is that our healthcare system is bankrupting America. Whether it be via high premiums, or people who get bit by rattlesnakes with no insurance who don't pay their bill, and then the Hospital rights it off which costs the US taxpayers..... We are all getting screwed, and it's destroying our wealth. Do I support M4A... no not necessarily, but I do think that major reform is needed to upend this system that is killing our middle class either by doubling their largest monthly expense & killing their ability to have any spending money elsewhere, or causing a system that promotes un-insurance which ends up costing the American Taxpayers which takes away from new roads, bridges, etc. that help the economy. Has nothing to do with Texas vs Cali. It's the Federal Healthcare infrastructure that is killing our wealth.
https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/rankings-and-ratings/states-ranked-by-uninsured-rates.html States ranked by uninsured rates Below is the total percentage of all uninsured adults in each state and the District of Columbia as of May. Ya, and one of the excuses conservatives use for Texas and their abhorrent amount of uninsured is that Texas has a lot of illegals. Well, Cali does to, even more, and they still are fairing considerably better.
Texas has the highest percentage of uninsured residents out of any state in the nation. The ultimate test of a family/community/state/nation/planet is how those who are the least fortunate are treated, America fails amongst its peers, and Texas fails amongst America.
For me, Cobra was cheaper and better than what was available in the marketplace. I essentially had a "platinum" plan through Cobra and paid about $400/ month less than my "bronze" plan.
Seriously. Ask where most people originate from on this message board and it's places like Katy and Sugar Land. That definitely isn't a representation of America. That's upper middle class.
What if the people choose NOT to get health insurance for whatever reason Also what if they don't know about health insurance The number of people not insured does not equate to it's poverty level i don't think it's that simple
No it really is that simple and people in the field of sociology will explain in nuance how it's one of the number one indicators for a society's quality of life and how they treat their citizens.
So California doesn't have a health care problem? There's a higher percentage of wealthy individuals there as well and shrinking middle class Remember cost of living is much higher in California, those people who can actually afford rent can actually afford health insurance Why are there so many of them moving to Texas? And if they are moving to Texas, do they have health insurance?
Wait if quality of life is worse in Texas why are people moving here in droves from California? @ROXRAN If you work in California or you work in Texas, your employer gives you health insurance. (full time jobs )
The poor aren't moving to Texas. Educated people like engineers are moving to Texas from Cali. Those people don't usually have to worry about health insurance nearly as much.
Cobra is health insurance if you are in between jobs , at least that's what people normally use it for
Define insurance? Like if I sell coverages with $30k deductible with max out of pocket of $250k for $3k a month for a family..... And that's the only option on the market, is that still insurance?
So the poor people in California have health insurance vs the poor people in Texas? Don't we have poor people on Clutchfans on the D&D?
