So his best 6 game stretch of his career is his norm?

I’m not arguing that. When they get paid does have a lot to do with it.
They were still less than a year apart and Watson got more than Wilson. It shouldn’t happen.

When Deshaun was "cheap" it was all about his vision, and lack of ball velo, instinctive passing etc on why he and the team wouldnt be able to succeed ... now that he has those things the argument devolves into money. SMH.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

The arm strength thing was dumb.
The others were legit concerns, he has seemingly put those to rest.
    Now he’s being paid.
If he played like he has this season, in last years season or year before. They probably win a few playoff games. Possibly super bowl.

And I guess since were only going off this season and the stats for this season like @Hey Now! says, then since

Josh Allen higher QBR, more total TDs and similar completion percentage is better

Ryan Tannehill has higher QBR, better TD/Int ratio

Derek Carr has higher QBR, better TD/Int ratio

    Are they better than Watson?

But then he probably would have earned MORE money and well we know thats a NO NO if a team is going to be a "winner" right? that 14-17% narrative? But I guess having a one and done team is better than nothing.

You ignore the fact that he's playing like this because BoB is no longer shackling him...

I can’t stand O’Brien. He is a huge part of why this team is where it is.
I’ve said this for far longer than this season.
I’m just not going to excuse Watson’s poor play (has been worlds better this season) and place that blame on OB.
It’s still OB system that Kelly is running.

And like I’ve said several times, if Watson’s progression has been all on him, then all of his mistakes are on him.

I will say, I don’t think Watson would ever handle business like Harden is right now.
The kid is a stand up dude, freakish talent that I hope becomes an all time great.

Im pretty disappointed in Harden, one of my favorites. Defensed him so much against haters. Pretty disappointed.

I hope the Texans do right by Watson and get him some help.

Meh. Different systems, coordinators, receivers, etc.

Tipped balls turn into interceptions, etc.

So elite QBs never make mistakes in any big moments? They're always perfect when it matters? Cause I've seen plenty of mistakes from guys like Russ, Rodgers, hell even Mahomes has made a mistake or 2 in crunchtime moments. Would you say Russ is no longer elite cause he's been playing not good the last few games?

And yes, let's blame Deshaun for not catching a snap that literally no other QB would catch. Let's blame Deshaun for Fulton yet again missing another block and Deshaun having 2 seconds before he was sacked for a safety(if he had gotten rid of the ball as suggested, you're looking at an intentional grounding and a safety).

Deshaun didn't play up to his standard of the last few weeks, he missed some passes, IIRC he missed Akins/Coutee on what would've been TD passes, tried to force it too much. But when you choose to point out 2 plays that the C and RG caused due to their mistakes as why Deshaun is not elite, this is why people go back and forward with you and question your agenda, it's like blaming the runner at 2nd base for not scoring on a softly grounded ball to an infielder.

No. Because you are cherry-picking stats. But if that's what you want to do, then please replace "Deshaun Watson" with "Russell Wilson" because everything you just posted about Watson is true of Wilson, too - you know, Wilson? The guy you think is clearly on the same tier as Mahomes and Rodgers and "significantly better" than Watson (because his defense won him a Super Bowl seven years ago)?

Dude, I’m using the stats and logic that you are using to say Watson is as good or better than Wilson.
You can’t even follow your own logic.

And another thing, this is the entire league that thinks Wilson is in that tier. You are the outlier lol.

Also, Allen has better completion percentage, quite a few more total TDs, better QBR, better record and similar numbers everywhere else.
Your logic (this season and specific stats) says Allen is better.

No, dude, You're using *some* of them. What *I* did was post seven - 7! - relevant QB metrics and how Watson ranked. You cherry-picked two.

I haven't looked at any recent updates since I posted it - but I'll quote what was true then:
I'll happily update it, if you'd like; my guess is that not much has changed significantly in the past 7 days.

Those are still cherry picked stats that support your narrative.
There are several quarterbacks in the same range as Watson right now.

And at this point, Watson is top 5 in yards, ypa, passer rating. Could be top 5 in interceptions if qualifying numbers are applied.
