@CCity Zero I lost half a years income on an alt, like 95% of my cost basis. Still hodling it, development still going, but mentally I've written it off. With the current opportunities, I'll stick to stocks. Added citron report to my earlier post on nnox. My gut feel is that there's a 10-20% chance theres a fraud. They bought this magic IP from sony for $6mil, spent a few more mil, $0.9 in 2019 on r&d and now looking at a multi billion dollar opportunity. They've got a few big business agreements and video demo, but nkla had that too. No scientific papers, no product. If I was a big hedge fund, I'd fly a radiologist and electrical engineer down to verify their claims and pump in money if it's true, but from my desk it's hard to tell. edit: ok, after more research i'm 70% leaning towards fraud now lol. not touching till there's more evidence that it's legit.
@saitou Man, so sorry to hear on the alt - I'm hoping something changes for you on that one - or you make it crazy big on the trades you're in/the new ones coming up. And I absolutely agree on your sentiment, from my desk some of the old ico papers I was looking at or the next big thing always looked great, like that NKLA promo video, man... I was so stoked when it was being discussed here and learning from everyone's insights - and then for GM to go in - it was looking like the real deal and then.... The whole thing basically imploded. I'm actually surprised it's still being traded/propped up. Anyway, I really appreciate your insights along with everyone else on here. I'm hoping I can find something worth sharing soon and hope to have some more time soon for dd/new plans.
on Nov 20, when NFLX was hovering around the lower channel, ~~ 479, w a series of doji on declining volume rolled the short leg forward to 24 Dec w the 555 strike CALL, collecting a premium of $3.50, netting the cost basis for this CALL spread to be $18.75 meanwhile, w NFLX trading ~ 498, w the long leg in-the-money, the market value of this call spread is now at ~$24.7
The market is so much about popularity, Tweets and momentum now, it's ****ing insane. @tinman will take a bullet for Elon for example.
This is how people trade now: Look on robinhood/stocktwits/discord or some other page for trending stocks....and throw in money and hope it keeps mooning..
Ouch. I thought the whole crypto market was a joke when a co-worker and I discussed it back in 2011. I think BTC was trading around $30-$40 back then. Oops. I still think most of these things are a joke that probably will never get used. But you can also take the approach I did for part of the dotcom bubble when I saw similar craziness I saw in the market as today -- if you find a $20 bill on your lawn are you going to say "that's not normal and won't happen again" and leave it there or do you take it? lol. Just don't put your life savings into it or you could seriously get burned. I saw a lot of that happen back then. I made money during the 2017'ish run-up in crypto, profited, and left a bunch sitting there during the crash. I didn't care because even if it went to zero, I made money. Bought a little more later and those went down I think, but hung on. Those coins just went on a run and I sold some of those just a week or two ago for profit. I still have some sitting in wallets that I'll probably just let ride forever. Most of them aren't even worth the tax implications of holding or trading, so I don't bother trading or staking. Like I care about 5% "dividends" in something that could crash or gain 20-30% in a week.
