[....and gender reassignment doesn't change chromosomes...so.... no, she wouldn't be physically male, even if she has the surgery. She can never be physically male. It is impossible]
I *think* the answer to this question is... LESBIAN: "My chromosomes are female (two X). I feel female. I identify as female. I want to be female. I'm attracted to females" TRANS-GENDERED MAN: "My chromosomes are female (two X). I feel male. I identify as male. I want to be male. I'm attracted to females"
That's right but it's not like our senses evolved to detect chromosomes. Basically Ellen wants to be treated and be passed off as a man. Does your dick move at the sight of someone with feminine features and acts feminine? Like my understanding is most gay men aren't attracted to transgender women even pre-op, yet some gay men like to dress in drag. It's lesbians that aren't trans-exclusive and men who identify as "straight" or bisexual that tend to be attracted to transgender women. Then there's a section of the feminist movement who even identify as lesbian but would never get in a sexual relationship with a transgender woman, pre or post-op, and don't consider transgender women as actual women. I had to learn this from my niece currently in college while having dinner with her and her boyfriend. I asked a question about the difference between a gay man in drag compared to a transgender woman pre-op. Gay men dress in drag dress in really exaggerated makeup and wigs that don't try to deliberately pass off as feminine. Like yes, they wear a dress and lingerie and wigs and in my opinion clown looking makeup, but after their drag party, the make up comes off, the dress goes off and they resume their normal life as a gay man dressed in otherwise masculine clothing. Conversely someone who is transgender wakes up and sleeps every moment believing they're opposite their biological sex. Presumably Ellen Page could have gay sex with another man despite having a vagina, although I imagine a biologically gay male might be disappointed to find a lack of dong to mess around with once naked. But hey, it's a big world out there and whatever works for people as long as no one is harmed.
Because she’s been so vocally politically active on the subject You wonder if she would do this is she was not famous. I think she would just be a lesbian as she was before if she wasn’t famous
There are two types of sweat glands among mammals. One that secretes oils which have pheromones in them and one which produces sweat. When human beings evolved into the mostly hairless creatures we are we lost the ability to release pheromones as a result. Instead we have more of the latter type of sweat gland which secretes sweat. Other mammals can pick up pheromones of their own species because they don't sweat like we do and so haven't evolved off their sweat gland that secretes oil which has pheromones on it. Given how we've evolved to just communicate and read other body language indicating a person is DTF, it's just more evidence that humans don't rely on pheromones to **** each other. We use our senses available to us, none of which have the ability to detect pheromones or chromosomes. On the off chance you ever find yourself attracted to a transgender person, it'll be your senses to blame for the perceived sense of deception.
Makes sense. I think. Hetero or Homo individuals don't have doubts or feelings about being another gender. What they are attracted to of course is different. Pretty easy to understand. Transgender folks truly believe they have the wrong body. This is where the confusion lies on what they are attracted to. I think we assume if you are in the LGBTQ community, you are okay with anyone but that's not true like you said. If you are born a female, and you like another females, it doesn't mean you are attracted to a trans female (male who identifies as female) even if they had a surgery to remove something.
Ya, again mostly just learned this through a niece that is very into the LGBTQ community despite have a hetero relationship with her boyfriend. She's my go to for questions like these. Also Contrapoints Youtube channel. She's a transgender woman pre-op that is happy to deliver all the juicy details to questions you might have about the transgender community. Personally speaking, I've never been in a situation where I knowingly was attracted to a transgender woman. Like for all I know I might have caught myself staring at the ass of a jogger in yoga pants I think is biologically female but may in fact be trans. I don't know. I never really put much thought into that until this thread. My understanding is the surgery to turn the penis and testicles into a vagina is basically a surgical wound that will eventually close up again and heal if there isn't something inside the surgically created vagina to keep it from closing itself. Sort of similar to how people who get gauges on their ears need to keep something inside the hole otherwise the ear will heal itself and close off the piercing. The other is a surgically made vagina can't get wet on it's own. It's kinda a bummer imho to think of getting intimate with a woman I can't even make wet on her own. Just the thought of having to bust out the KY every time is more of a turn off to me no matter how immaculate looking the surgical vagina may be. That and the inability to have children if that's something you want to have in the future. But I imagine if you're really serious about being in a relationship with someone trans, you've had all these thoughts and more in your head and still find the Pros to the relationship outweigh the Cons. Again, who am I to judge the happiness of a couple based on their mutual attraction?
Agreed. For all we know who knows if we have looked and found someone attractive who was actually a trans. Soon we will have to put this on our dating profiles: looking for someone who has have two X chromones, can have kids and has a non-surgically created self-lubricating vagina. Looking for Female doesn't cut it anymore.
Or what if our understanding of human biology ever got so advanced we could literally re-assign chromosomes without it negatively impacting someone's health in other ways? What if in the future somehow trans women can have children and self lubricate? I mean at that point will it even matter?
I mean even heterosexual sex can have masculine and feminine roles. You ever roll in bed with a woman who wanted to be in control the majority of the time? That'd be considered masculine or a top by gay standards even though you're still the one doing the penetrating. Are you a dude that's exclusively into women but likes to be submissive in the bedroom? That'd be considered more feminine. Yet no one really worries about **** like this that goes on in the bedroom. If you and your wife like taking turns being in control during sex, then that's just the gay equivalent of being versatile. Ellen Page could presumably have gay sex with a man and be that dude's top as odd as that sounds. If you get head from a woman but she slips a finger up your bum is that gay? Is it gay to **** a woman in the ass? Or get your nipples sucked by your wife? I guess assuming you somehow got a chance to roll in bed with Ellen Page, would you feel gay afterwards or feel like you had sex with a woman? Would it even matter to you assuming you and Ellen had a mutual attraction to one another and got pleasure from having sex? Like would you care if Ellen called his friends and talked about banging you and being in a gay relationship, even though you're the one hitting that still intact self lubricating baby making vagina?
