If he is doing that, then i expect the wizards to be 10th seed.

Last year Beal averaged 30 a game, Bertans 15.4, Hachimura 13.5, and Bryant 13.2. If Russ gets 30 a game and the youngsters continue to improve, that's well over 100 a game from just their likely starters.

You think Beal will average 30 with with Russ around wanting a huge usage? Russ was top 5 in usage player just this past season and he felt that was not enough so yeah expect him to be back to number 1 again. That’s why the western conference GM said poor Beal.

Oh you mean it had nothing to do with Harden walking the ball up the court and waiting until there’s 5 secs or less before he finally decides what he wants to do?

**** these select articles as words of affirmation to fit your delusional agendas.

This coming from Westbrick’s biggest hater.

    Heat
    Philly
    Atlanta
    Toronto
    Boston

This seems vaguely familiar, I just can't quite think where I know an owner like that from

If this team can keep their health, we are a much better team than last year.

Actually it just needs a good guard passing the whole team and able to bring the team during harden sit on the bench and shoot the final minute ball. Westbrooks is getting the ball to shoot whole harden is here, but he keeps missing.
We also need center to grab the offensive rebounds to protect the rim for harden or other players missing shoots like Gordon. The center grabs the rebounds to do 2nd attack. Also we need sttong defence. Houston is doing the right things now. Just improve the guard and small forward and a backup power forward or center will be perfect

John wall is not the explosive scorer russ is but he plays far smarter and under control. He can make the right passes without being detrimental to the rest of the team’s success by over doing it.

That's not how averages work, though. Not everyone plays every game. The Wizards had 9 players play 40+ games last year and combined they averaged 120 points, but the Wizards did not score that many a game as a team, for example.

I had a pretty anti WB avatar since the day of the trade id get so many nasty DMs about. No means a defender of him but yea exactly, it seems like one of the main problems of this team always gets a free pass

The guy has played 4 seasons, if he was a 2nd rounder, he would just be finishing his rookie contract. We don't need him to be much of a playmaker either. Russ was a playmaker and we didn't need that when Defenses double James and pack the paint. I'd like the Rockets to pursue a cheaper sniper, but if HIeld can had, he will feast on Harden double teams. Gordon hasn't been consistently good for a while. I realize he had a great game last year with 50, doesn't change my opinion that Hield is the better fit right now.

Those swaps are definitely not worthless, though it's possible it could turn out that way. We're in a worse situation evaluating a strategy with Harden's trade demand because if we were to trade him and tank this year with a loaded draft class we only keep our pick if we're not picking higher than OKC (reasonably probable) or Miami (Miami will almost certainly be picking in the 20's) or our pick lands in the top 4.

Then in 2025 the Thunder could be pretty good again thanks to the absurd amount of draft capital they have right now. Fortunately they also can swap picks with the Clippers that year, who could be bad, and they can only swap with us if our pick falls in the top 10. So if we're really bad we get to keep the pick. But, since we owe them top 4 protected picks in 2024 and 2026 being really bad in 2025 would be pretty bleak.

Also, regardless of what we got back in other trades, giving up top 4 protected picks in 2024 and 2026 looks really bad when you are staring at a massive rebuild. Note that the least protected the Washington pick gets is top 8, the Portland pick is lottery protected, and the Pistons pick never gets lower than top 9 protected.

So if we keep Harden and have a good season this year and can rebuild on the fly and are competitive in 2024-2026, then giving up the picks and swaps will not have mattered. Being competitive in those years will be a challenge though.

We don't know what cp3 we get if we kept him. His play regressed so much that we were worried that we would not be able to move his contract. Why do you think we had to add/swap first rounders to flip him? Most fans were done with this duo, running it back did not give a lot of fans confident about making another championship run.

And no Covington probably wouldn't be here because we traded him to accommodate Westbrook, remember?

Plus, Harden did not like cp3. He wanted Russ here. Are we forgetting this tidbit? Literally the main reason we didn't run it back was because Harden wanted cp3 gone lol

Per CF I learned a couple of days ago that CP3 had actually made the changes with his diet and offseason conditioning before we started talking to OKC. Assuming that's true he probably would have had at least somewhat of a bounce back season here if we'd "run it back."

We had to give up more draft capital than we should have because OKC had the leverage and used it. Russ's deal was one year longer than CP3's and even though he's a much younger player there were concerns about injuries with him and how bad his game could age. If both teams were kind of on equal footing of feeling like they needed to do a deal, like us and Washington with the Wall-Russ deal, we should have given up maybe like a lotto protected pick swap in 2025 and one lotto protected pick in 2023 that drops to top 10 in 2024 and then turns into two second rounders. But OKC didn't really feel a need to make that trade and we did.

Harden's co-existence with CP3 would have been the big question mark. With CP3 still barking at everyone the prior season and not having the game to back it up it's not surprising that started to wear on James.
