No.... 2016 was MDA first season and 2017 was the first CP3 year. It was pretty quickly.... CP3 can score in isolation too which accounts for the increase in his first season. Go check out 2018-2019. If Wall is 100% we significantly upgraded defensively at point guard. He was one of the top shot blocking and stealing PGs in the league, at one point he lead the Wizards in block shots per game over the centers before injury. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/WAS/2018.html He averages very similar or a little less blocks for his career as Kawhi and Jokic, taller frontcourt players. He moves his feet on defense and is a bigger point guard with a wingspan. As long as he doesn't gamble and plays positional defense we should be improved.
