Unfortunately those players do not grow on trees.

Why I suggested Jonah Bolden or Paul Reed.

Both have potential as stretch 4/5 with ball handling and are switchable on defense.

Another option is a young Andre Roberson type with better 3ball - 6'8 Devin Robinson.

Also available for vet min, like 6'9 Bolden.

I’m expecting Stone to sit tight and see what we have with the team as currently constructed and what Harden is thinking. No need to go after an Oladipo type if Harden still wants out, and maybe we realize that this team is another stretch 4 or something else away from competing.

in the case of Porter, you have to send out all of Gordon, Tucker and House. Just don’t think that’s a move that makes you better.

also, I think there’s a chance Porter agrees to a buyout. if we’ve moved out Tucker and Gordon before he’s waived, we have a good chunk of the MLE to use to cover his buyout. Also, we’ve got Wall to help us recruit Porter.

So the team could look like:

    Wall / Brown
    Harden / Nwaba
    Porter / House
    Gordon
    Wood / Cousins

Can’t be worse than Wall, Cousins, McLemore.......most of the NBA.

Defense is why we have Nwaba, Tucker and Sterling Brown. Why we should play zone often.

I think AG can be had for less than multiple FRP if the Magic get the right player in return.

    https://tradenba.com/trades/Y7f5yokqx

    ORL: Buddy Hield
    PHI: PJ Tucker, Justin James
SAC: Eric Gordon, Mike Scott, Khem Birch + Magic FRP + 76ers FRP + Rockets FRP
HOU: Aaron Gordon, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz

*Rockets save 2.2M on this trade.

    6'4 Wall/6'7 Korkmaz
    6'5 Harden/6'3 McLemore/6'5 Brown
    6'5 Thybulle/6'5 Nwaba/6'4 Tate
    6'8 AG/6'6 House/6'6 KJ
    6'10 Wood/6'10 Cousins/6'9 Bruno

Korkmaz and BMac would give Rockets two players shooting 40% from 3.

But neither of them are much good on defense. Furkan is at least another ball handler/passer, high IQ player.

If there is a chance of a Porter buyout + AG then I would be absolutely all over that.

    What have you heard?

Agreed, but Cedi is not a sniper, 40% from 3 like BMac. Nor is he All Star level offensive potential like Boogie and Wood.

He is young, still 25, so he still has upside. He came into NBA as more developed defensively than offensively - just never panned out like that.

Need someone who is better than House, do not think that's Cedi.

If Cousins is healthy, he is starting. Y’all are kidding yourself If you think otherwise. He is a force of nature in all ways imaginable, for good and for bad.

And Wood would thus start at PF.

So an Aaron Gordon type would be coming off the bench...
Wall is a fantastic defender when he is out there.

maybe, though I don’t know if the 76ers do this deal, and I’m not sure how much value Hield really has around the league.

I agree that ideally you don’t trade everything to get Aaron Gordon, which is why the ability to wait and restore Eric Gordon’s value is important. If he proves the last year was a fluke, we may be able to move him a neutral value, then you can realistically look at some 3 team deals where the 3rd team actually wants Gordon, rather than takes him as a salary dump.

The player has to make less than EG.
Only thing I can think of is either a straight up deal where we send EG for George Hill, who makes considerably less, knowing we can use the MLE on someone as a buyout candidate (would still have to attach picks to EG) and the other player we sign has to be good enough because we do lose scoring and shooting with the EG to Hill swap

    Or

a 3 way trade with OKC and another team that brings in George Hill and a wing from the third team and then a pick to each of OKC and that third team. Again, that wing plus Hill’s contract would have to amount to no more than EG’s contract and preferably less.

no inside info. Just looking at situations. He’s an expiring with a $28.5 contract. Pretty much no one could trade for him at that level, or at least it will be very difficult. He’s on a bad team. And chicago is know for being cheap, so there’s a chance they agree to a buyout where he leaves $7 million on the table and we make that up to him via our MLE.

Then its doubtful since Bulls have lots of cap room and no max players.

Make the trade for Simmons we don’t have to give up any additional assets

Then trade the other picks we have to pair somebody with Simmons or wait till another “star” shakes loose.

This is the move. Hate to say it and I will miss James dearly but this is necessary.

Tucker is still starter quality, elite defense plus elite corner 3. He would be coveted especially by teams in the East who need switchable defenders to challenge Lebron/AD.

Thybulle and Korkmaz are rotational players with 76ers right now with Danny Green and Seth Curry acquisitions.

Magic would kill for Hield, he improves spacing and 3ball scoring immediately for a team dying for those 2 things.

Hield and Isaac would become complementary franchise cornerstones in Orlando to team up with Vucevic, their only All Star.

Fultz, Hield, Fournier, Okeke (until Isaac returns), Vucevic is a formidable starting 5, especially in the East.

With Bamba, Cole, Aminu and Ross off the bench.
