It would be hard to imagine since no one is asking Harden to take a back seat to WB..... .... Just help out the team by playing some ball so WB isn’t taking dumb shots.
To be clear... I already owned you earlier. You’d do well to put me on ignore too since you can’t handle it.
It's pretty crazy, I'm not sure if it's that they hate Harden or if they just REALLY like awful basketball. Given that the same poster was today, in 2020, trying to double down on talking up Terrence Jones well after he washed out of the NBA AND China, I think it's likely that poster either just likes to stir the pot, or they just REALLY love awful, but flashy, basketball. I'm not going to ignore them though, these are the kinds of insane hot takes that you want to remember to laugh about later.
Didn’t guys know it is Hardens fault Russ can’t shoot at the age of 32. It’s Hardens fault Russ has zero ball IQ. It is Hardens fault Russ is a turnover machine with horrendous handles. I guess it was Harden fault Russ never got out of the first round without him or KD in OKC!
LOL, I'm cool with you thinking that big guy. I'm serious though, you should get a couple hundred bucks together and see if you can get Terrence Jones to join a pick up league with you.
Remember when you posted WS48 numbers and found out how similar Wall and WB were? Remember how you had to beg to come back here?
His contract made him untradable, not because he isn't a good enough player. This is a former league MVP, walking triple double, first ballot HOFer we're talking about here. One crap season and now he isn't good enough anymore, not special, ridiculous. And the OP thinks it's necessary to belabor this point in a completely new thread after the trade on his way out!? Even more ridiculous... Worse yet, its actually trash. Yet Harden remains unscathed by most here with all these stars leaving our team year after year, absolutely incredible...
That wasn't news to me kiddo. I was never arguing about how John Wall used to play, I was never a fan of his BECUASE he played so much like Westbrook. I only cited those numbers to point out how bad Westbrook was this season when someone was saying he was playing at a near all star level during the regular season or some nonsense like that. As I've said from the start, I don't like the way John Wall used to play, what I see in him though is a guy who seems willing to alter his play and a guy who has some traits that can be valuable to the Rockets. Things that Westbrook simply can't do.....like shoot a ball without embarrassing himself. If John Wall shows up trying to play like Westbrook, it'll be a disaster, because playing that style of inefficient garbage tier basketball is simply awful. Westbrook can't play any other way, Wall potentially can....and from the statements he's made over the last year, it's his goal to do just that.
More Harden off ball maximizes the team, do we really want to see how much farther we can take ISOball? I’m still going to argue Harden needs more balance to his game next Wall just like I argued it with WB. It was never about Harden taking a back seat but maximizing the team. The fools are too emotional to understand.
And my argument was we needed a more balance attack, not that Harden needed to take a back seat. For all your WB whining, you would have thought he would be vastly worse than Wall. But as usually you use hyperbole. And again, Wall is more turn over prone... Get over it.
You don't get balance by merely handing the ball to an inferior player who gets no respect from defenders due to not being able to shoot and was the worst iso player on the Rockets last season behind Danuel House. Since Westbrook can't shoot, is an inferior passer, and won't command a double team, you basically just picked ISO Westbrook over having Harden run the offense....something like 0.87 points per possession. Now if Westbrook was capable of running an offense efficiently and intelligently then sure, you'd do that......it's why CP3 worked so well with Harden, but no one that knows what they are talking about would ever suggest that Westbrook is capable of playing efficiently or intelligently. You might pad Westbrook's stats by giving him the ball, but you'd do so at the expense of the team. It's absurd to suggest that the Rockets should have done more of that.
Again hyperbole.... Why do teams pack the paint if WB gets no respect? They respect his ability to drive and get fouls, not his shooting. Why do you think I want WB to ISO? That’s stupid.... is that your plan.... keep bringing up ideas I never suggested? WB can competently run an offense, there’s many seasons of proof in OKC. He did it with Durant.. he did without Durant.... and he did it with Paul George.... Hell he did it with Harden playing off ball....
LOL packing the paint when a player has the ball out on the perimeter is a sign of disrespect. Any NBA caliber guard should be able to hit 3's if you leave them open....any guard but Westbrook. Since he can't shoot, you sag off him and clutter up the paint and hope he's either dumb enough to try to run into traffic or take the open shot. He's usually dumb enough to do one of the 2. He's simply not capable of running an offense that is any good at all.
Again... We all know he can’t shoot. We all know he is elite in transition and constantly puts pressure on the defense. He sucks in the half court, especially with a bunch of stationary players. Watch OKC offense under Russ in the last season ... they never sagged off as much. What’s the difference in a year? More movement.... He can run a competent offense, he did it his last year with OKC. WB isn’t good enough to adjust his game, Harden is. You are arguing to maximize Harden, I’m arguing to maximize the team.
They were the 17th ranked offense in the league.....what an amazing offense he ran. Not like that terrible offense run by Harden that was first or second in the NBA for 3 consecutive seasons before Westbrook came to town and it dropped to 7th. If only they ran things more like that 17th ranked offense Westbrook used to run in OKC.... These are brilliant takes.
I said WB ran a competent offense.... you act like WB is incapable of doing anything as a facilitator. Not sure why you continue that line of hyperbole... WB isn’t good enough to adjust/tweak his game over an offseason.... Harden is. How are you going to maximize the team then? Benching WB for the entire game isn’t an option...
Him running the 17th "best" offense in the NBA kind of suggests that he can't really run a competent offense. Also, that team went out in a gentleman's sweep in the first round, something that happens a lot on offenses run by Westbrook. The way I maximize the team is by kicking Westbrook off the team and replacing him with a guard that can shoot and play the role we need them to play. We don't completely cater the entire team to suit a player that isn't any good. You run an offense through Harden, and you can have the best offense in the NBA....but we need to change that.....to make the team better, so let's run it through someone who can make the offense the 17th best.
